At CommonSpirit Health, new grad RNs don’t just start a job, they launch their nursing career through the National Nurse Residency Program (NNRP). This 12-month, evidence-based experience is built to help you go from new nurse to confident caregiver with real support every step of the way.
You’ll learn through a mix of hands-on training, virtual learning, and one-on-one mentorship with experienced nurses, cheering you along the way.
During your nurse residency, you’ll build real-world skills to connect with patients, handle stress, and grow your confidence so you can thrive at the bedside and step confidently into your future as a resilient nursing professional.
At CommonSpirit Health, our work is rooted in faith-based compassion and a strong commitment to caring for every person who walks through our doors. In Arizona and Nevada, that mission comes to life through serving underserved communities, advancing health equity, and staying deeply connected to the neighborhoods we support. As a new graduate nurse, your care will have a real, visible impact on the health and well-being of the people around you.
We believe in caring for the whole person, mind, body, and spirit. That same philosophy extends to our team, creating a supportive environment where you’re valued, encouraged, and set up to grow in your confidence and clinical skills from day one.
You’ll also be part of a fully integrated system of care, including hospitals, specialty clinics, urgent care, and community programs. That means you’ll gain exposure across the continuum of care, helping you build a strong foundation as you begin your nursing career.
You’ll be joining a collaborative team where support is part of everyday practice. You’ll work alongside compassionate, experienced nurses and providers who show up for each other, listen to your voice, and value what you bring from day one of your career.
As a new grad, your growth matters here. You’ll have access to structured mentorship, hands-on learning, and strong professional development opportunities designed to help you build confidence at the bedside. With leadership training, tuition support, and ongoing development programs, you’ll have real pathways to grow your career in the direction you want to go.
You’ll also benefit from the strength of a national health system while still staying closely connected to your local community. That means cutting-edge resources, best practices, and system-wide expertise paired with the ability to make a direct impact where you live and work.
At the heart of it all is purpose. This is a mission-driven environment where care goes beyond clinical tasks. You’ll be part of a team that shows up with compassion, treats every patient with dignity, and finds meaning in the difference you make every single day.
“The additional training that involved nursing skills really helped refresh and solidify how to perform those nursing tasks. The outrotations helped give multiple different perspectives. The added support and resources from the education team was and is very helpful to have."
-Former Nurse Resident, July 2024 cohort
Coming Summer 2027
