With a blend of hands-on learning, interactive virtual education, and meaningful mentorship, you’ll grow your clinical judgment, sharpen critical thinking, and begin developing your leadership voice in a supportive, team-centered environment. Along the way, we focus on what matters most, helping you connect with patients, navigate real-world challenges, and build resilience.

At CHI Saint Joseph Health, we believe nursing care defines who we are, grounded in safe, compassionate, and high-quality care that begins with supporting our nurses from day one.

Our CommonSpirit Health National Nurse Residency Program (CSH NNRP) offers a nationally standardized, evidence-based approach to help newly licensed and new-to-practice nurses transition into practice safely, effectively, and confidently. Through a blend of in-person and virtually enhanced learning, the program strengthens critical thinking, clinical judgment, evidence-based decision-making, leadership, engagement, and resilience.

During the first year, nurse residents participate in a comprehensive, competency-based curriculum supported by trained preceptors and ongoing mentorship. Built on American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) accreditation standards, the program incorporates innovative, contemporary, and evidence-based practices to accelerate clinical competence.
