Application Process
CommonSpirit's online application process consists of multiple steps designed to accept information you volunteer about your skills, education, and interests which are then matched against the current requirements of job openings at CommonSpirit and its affiliates. If a match is found in the online preliminary screening, you may be invited to complete an online assessment that measures your experiences and accomplishments as well as your attitudes and preferences about various work-related subjects.

Privacy Statement
Your application and any additional information you provide to us will be added to our applicant database and will be used for the purpose of reviewing your skills, experience and interest against job openings at CommonSpirit Health and/or CommonSpirit Health Affiliate(s) and for reporting purposes as may be required by law.

Disclosure Statement
Your decision to enter the application process by supplying personally identifiable information about yourself ("Personal Information") indicates you understand and agree with the following:

  • You represent that you have thoroughly reviewed the Job Posting for the position you are applying for, including the responsibilities, qualifications, and salary range.  You further represent that the information you are submitting is complete and accurate and acknowledge that providing false or misleading information during any of the steps of the application process will lead to your rejection or termination.
  • You may be required to produce original documents that verify your employment eligibility and identification.
  • CommonSpirit Health may also share your personal information with other companies acting on CommonSpirit Health's behalf to provide employment verification services, such as a background checking organizations or assessment.
  • In order to promote a safe working environment, high quality patient care and related services, CommonSpirit Health performs background checks on all external candidates once they have completed the application process and are offered a job.
  • Employment at CommonSpirit Health is contingent upon the completion of a satisfactory background check. If something on your background check appears to be a reason that we cannot hire you, we will notify you. In such an instance, we will provide you with a copy of your criminal background check and information on the process for resolution, if appropriate.
  • You have the right to request access to your Personal Information, in order to file a correction, update, modification, or ask for the deletion of certain of your Personal Information. You can do this by going to your dashboard on MyCareer editing your preferences. If you request the deletion of your Personal Information, please understand that applicable legal requirements may require that CommonSpirit Health must maintain certain data for a period of three (3) years. Despite this, you may withdraw your candidacy of employment for a particular position at any time and CommonSpirit Health will mark your application withdrawn.

CommonSpirit Health may contact you to send you announcements or to request information. If you no longer wish to be contacted, you can edit your email preferences on your candidate dashboard.

Security
CommonSpirit Health uses appropriate security measures to protect your personally identifiable information against unauthorized access, use or disclosure. Security measures include the use of firewalls and secure data storage facilities.

Authorization

I understand that the resume and personal information I enter online will be used by CommonSpirit Health and its affiliates for recruitment, hiring and employment purposes only. I authorize the investigations of any and all statements contained in this application. I also authorize, where listed or not, any person, company, school, current employer, past employer or person to give any relevant information and opinions regarding my employment, education, character, and qualifications that may be useful in making a hiring decision and hereby release them from all liability for any damage as a result of providing this information.

At- Will Employment

If hired, unless expressly told by the hiring manager or recruiter at CommonSpirit Health and its affiliates, I would be an at-will employee and CommonSpirit Health and its affiliates or I can terminate my employment at any time, with or without cause. I understand that no one has any authority to enter into an agreement for employment for any specified period of time or to make any agreement contrary to the foregoing, except for a written employment agreement signed by an officer of CommonSpirit Health and its affiliates.

Employment Screening Process

All job offers are contingent upon the review of references, background checks, drug/alcohol screening, excluded provider screenings, and other relevant information. Any misleading of incorrect statements, omissions of failure to disclose any criminal convictions, health care related criminal conviction, or any threatened or actual debarment, exclusion or other ineligibility of participation in a federally funded healthcare programs, may remove this application from further consideration for employment and, if employed, may be cause for termination.

Seasonal Influenza Vaccination

Per the CommonSpirit Health Influenza Vaccination Policy, an annual flu vaccination will be required for all employees of CommonSpirit Health and its affiliates in order to protect and ensure the safety of patients, maintain the health and well-being of staff, and build healthy communities. Persons who refuse flu vaccination without a documented and approved exemption or any allowable exemption(s) permitted by law, regulation or order from a local public health department(s) will be terminated in accordance with Human Resources (HR) policies.

Covid-19 Vaccination Requirement

CommonSpirit Health follows the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) vaccination recommendations for healthcare workers.  This recommendation includes, but is not limited to, an annual seasonal influenza vaccination for those without a qualified exemption.  In addition, CommonSpirit Health highly encourages COVID-19 vaccination, as recommended by the *CDC. Employees will be asked to report their COVID-19 vaccination status upon hire.    

*Any federal, state or local laws or public health mandates with more stringent vaccination requirements will supersede CommonSpirit Health policies and/or procedures.

San Francisco County Requirement Effective April 1, 2023

Personnel working in designated Healthcare Facilities are required to either 1) receive the full initial course of vaccination and, once they are eligible, to receive a Booster; or 2) receive a single dose of the most recent bivalent vaccine formulation. Personnel who are already compliant with the vaccine mandate requirement by receiving a monovalent full initial course and a single monovalent Booster are recommended but not required to receive an additional bivalent dose.  Click here to see a list of San Francisco County CommonSpirit Health facilities and locations. Click on the tab labeled San Francisco County, CA. 

Los Angeles County, CA Requirement Effective November 1, 2023

All healthcare workers are required to remain up-to-date on COVID-19 vaccination (receive at least one dose of an updated 2023-24 COVID-19 vaccine) OR sign a written declination and wear surgical mask or higher-level respirator (e.g., N95, KN95, KF94) with good fit while on duty during flu season, defined as November 1 to April 30 of the following year.  Click here to see a list of Los Angeles County CommonSpirit Health facilities and locations. Click on the tab labeled Los Angeles County, CA. 

San Luis Obispo County, CA Requirement Effective November 1, 2023

Kentucky Employment Application Requirement Effective March 28, 2024

For this type of employment state Kentucky law requires a criminal record check as a condition of employment.  

Contracts with temporary direct care staff: “Per Section 216.724(1) of the Kentucky Revised Statutes, this contract does not restrict your employment opportunities, including contract buy-out provisions or non-compete clauses; nor will you be charged a fee should you be hired by the health care facility to which you are assigned.” 

HCSA Policy: Addition of KRS 216.789: Kentucky state law prohibits referring an employee to a facility if that person has been convicted of a felony offense related to theft: abuse or sale of illegal drugs: abuse, neglect, or exploitation of an adult: sexual crime.
