CommonSpirit Health Administrative Fellowship Opportunities

CommonSpirit has 157,000 team members, including 45,000 nurses and 25,000 physicians and advanced practice providers, working at more than 2,300 clinics and care sites and 137 hospital-based locations.

Rotation Structure

The CommonSpirit Health Fellowship is a national 18-month system-wide fellowship offered in our various operational regions and functions across the organization.

In conjunction with their executive sponsor, fellows have the ability to curate their own unique experience that provides exposure and development from the below menu.

Core Skills: Leadership Engagement, Organizational Awareness, Market/Region Analysis, Administrative and Systems Proficiency
Strategic and Analytical Skills: Data Analysis, Financial Management, Competitive Intelligence, Business Development 
Business Excellence Skills: Quality Improvement, Patient Safety, Risk Management, Process Improvement 
Interim Leadership: Communication and Interpersonal skills, Leadership and Team Building, Change Management

Eligibility

The Administrative Fellowship Program is designed for early career professionals with five years or less of experience in their current field.

At the time of application, candidates must either be in the final year of an accredited graduate program, with degree completion expected by the end of the fellowship, or have recently completed a graduate degree from an accredited university. Eligible degrees include a Master of Health Administration (MHA), Master of Business Administration (MBA), Master of Management in Public Health (MMPH), Master of Science in Nursing (MSN), or a Master of Science in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.

Successful candidates will demonstrate a strong interest in management roles within an integrated healthcare delivery system, a passion for CommonSpirit Health’s mission, and a commitment to delivering compassionate, human-centered care.

Application Timeline

The application for the Administrative Fellowship Program opens in July 2025. All materials must be submitted by the deadline on September 5, 2025. Zoom interviews will take place in early September, followed by final interviews in late September. The anticipated start date for the fellowship is July 2026. Location opportunities will be shared when the application postings go live.

Application Materials

To be considered for the fellowship, applicants must submit a complete application through the CommonSpirit Health Careers portal by September 5, 2025.

All documents should be uploaded in the Candidate Profile section of the online application. A complete application includes:

A one-page resume that clearly states your anticipated graduation date
A one-page statement of purpose that addresses the following: your interest in a fellowship at CommonSpirit Health, why you are drawn to the opportunity indicated, how the fellowship aligns with your career goals, and what humankindness means to you.

Additionally, applicants must provide:

Two letters of recommendation—one professional and one other (can be professional, academic, or personal).
A graduate transcript (unofficial transcripts are acceptable).
