Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Maintenance Engineer, you will provide technical guidance and hands-on support to the maintenance staff, overseeing daily work assignments and troubleshooting complex system issues. You will ensure all maintenance activities are completed efficiently, safely, and in compliance with established protocols and regulations.

Every day you will perform routine inspections of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems, identifying and addressing potential problems proactively. You will also train and mentor junior team members, fostering their skill development and adherence to best practices.

To be successful in this role, you will possess advanced expertise across multiple maintenance disciplines, strong leadership qualities, and exceptional problem-solving abilities. You will effectively manage maintenance workflows, prioritize tasks, and communicate clearly with both your team and senior management regarding facility status and project progress.


Job Requirements

The Maintenance Engineer performs a variety of preventive maintenance, repairs, and facilities tasks on the building, equipment, and grounds to ensure the facility is kept in optimal condition. The role involves skilled trade work in areas such as carpentry, painting, electrical, plumbing, heating and air conditioning, and locksmith duties.

  1. Perform maintenance and repairs on the building and equipment, including carpentry, painting, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
  2. Maintain and repair kitchen equipment.
  3. Assemble furniture and other items as needed.
  4. Assist with quarterly technical testing of equipment and facility inspections, identifying the need for work orders and following up on tasks that require external support.
  5. Ensure the grounds and surrounding areas are well-maintained..

Required Skills & Knowledge:

  • Expertise in the operation, troubleshooting, and repair of boilers, compressors, diesel generators, pumps, motors, and related equipment.
  • Proficiency in HVAC systems and general mechanical/electrical systems.
  • Familiarity with testing methods and tools for mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Knowledge of plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and carpentry standards, as well as an understanding of pneumatics.
  • Ability to understand and communicate complex instructions, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to train staff and ensure safety and regulatory compliance.
  • Proficiency in reading blueprints and specifications.
  • Skilled in operating maintenance equipment and evaluating/repairing malfunctioning equipment.
  • Familiarity with office software and automated systems.
  • Strong ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
