The posted compensation range of $71.79 - $82.94 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. CommonSpirit may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Pharmacist, you’ll help our doctors and nurses safely prescribe and dispense medications to help our patients feel better and recover from their illness or injury.

Every day you will meticulously review every prescription in your queue for safety, critically assessing for potential drug interactions, correct dosing, patient allergies, or any irregularities. You'll then authorize prescriptions for the pharmacy technician, performing a final check before dispensing medication to the nursing station, ensuring expert oversight in every process.

To excel in this role, you must enjoy learning new concepts and researching information in real-time to provide solutions for real people. You should also continually look for ways to go above and beyond for your patients, delivering an exceptional experience along with exceptional care.

  • Coordination of Pharmacy functions for Medications Reconciliation, Renal dosing, Kinetics, IV production including TPN’s, Chemotherapy, Medication verification, Compounding, Automatic Dispensing Cabinets, Patient education and Dispensing of medications. If working as Pharmacist Lead in Retail Pharmacy functions would include, Retail prescriptions, Hospice consulting, and oversight of the day to day activities. The following elements are essential to accomplish these functions.
  • Communication: Conveys information accurately and efficiently, listens actively and incorporates ideas of others, adapts written and oral style to the audience to enhance understanding. Conveys written information and intent in direct, succinct, easy-to-understand fashion; uses good grammar and accurate, appropriate vocabulary; adjusts style and content to audience and circumstance. Speaks in an easy-to-understand, easily-heard direct manner that reflects clear, organized and reasoned thought, uses language appropriate to audience and situation.
  • Problem Solving: Analyzes interrelated elements of problems and works systematically to solve them, uses sound judgment to develop efficient and feasible resolutions to challenging issues.
  • Time Management: Prioritizes work responsibilities to focus daily activities and maximize use of unscheduled time, efficiently and productively juggles multiple tasks.
  • Decision Making: Gathers the necessary information and makes timely and good decisions by calling on varied resources and sound judgment and instincts to evaluate the relative merit and significance of the information at hand, prioritizes to maintain balance between addressing important issues and handling urgent problems.
  • Teamwork: Acts as a valuable, collaborative team member by demonstrating willingness to assume a variety of roles within a group – leader, follower, facilitator; seeks opportunities to build team effectiveness by developing cooperative relationships, exchanging ideas and preventing and resolving problems.
Job Requirements

Graduate of College of Pharmacy

Current Minnesota Board of Pharmacy Registration

Preferred

Three years of experience working in a pharmacy environment
