The posted compensation range of $62.41 - $90.56 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. CommonSpirit may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

Work involves providing clinical and operational service oversight of all aspects of clinic pharmacy operations in a hematology/oncology clinic setting including dispensing medications and intravenous solutions to patients for all types of chemotherapy or other infusion type medications including ancillary treatments; providing patient counseling and drug therapy monitoring to ensure patients receive safe, efficacious and cost-effective medication therapy.


Provides a quality level of comprehensive clinical pharmaceutical services demonstrating sound judgment based upon knowledge and application of professional, departmental, and organizational principles and standards. Demonstrates an ability to coordinate subordinate activities by providing direction and guidance concerning the operational activities of the department. Work is performed in accordance with protocols, internal guidelines/standards, and Board of Pharmacy regulatory requirements.


Job Requirements

In addition to bringing humankindness to the workplace each day, qualified candidates will need the following:

Education and Experience: 

  • Bachelor of Science or PharmD from an accredited school of pharmacy
  • 5 years of experience in Pharmacy in lieu of Board Certification
  • 2 years of oncology or infusion pharmacy experience

Licensure and Certifications:

  • Active State Pharmacist License in good standing in the state in which the employee works: PHARM:CO

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Training:

  • Knowledge of the principles, practices, standards and techniques relating to the compounding and dispensing of medicinal drugs
  • Knowledge of hematology and oncology medicine and all pharmaceutical issues associated with outpatient chemotherapy
  • Knowledge of the legal requirements applicable to the pharmacy profession, including State Board of Pharmacy
  • Knowledge of CPT and HCPCS billing requirements 
  • Knowledge of Clinical Dosing Protocols, Collaborate Drug Therapy Agreements
  • Ability to formulate and present therapeutic alternatives to physicians, pharmacists, nurses and pharmacy assistants
  • Knowledge of practices and procedures relating to pharmacy care in an ambulatory setting, including inventory practices and requirements
  • Knowledge of the methods and techniques used to securely store narcotics and other controlled substances sufficient to ensure the security of the area
  • Knowledge of infection control, safety and risk management standards as relates to the ambulatory pharmacy setting
  • Ability to effectively communicate pharmaceutical care information to patients, physicians, and other medical staff.
  • Ability to express ideas and convey technical information effectively in verbal and written communication
  • Ability to read, understand and communicate in English sufficient to perform the duties of the position
  • Ability to use office equipment and automated systems/applications/software at an acceptable level
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships as required by the duties of the position
