The posted compensation range of $76.53 - $113.84 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. Job Summary and Responsibilities

We are seeking an exceptional and dedicated Retail Pharmacy Manager to lead our future Sierra Pacific Cancer Center retail pharmacy and ensure the delivery of outstanding pharmaceutical services. This is a critical leadership role responsible for the overall success and compliant operation of our retail pharmacy.

As our Retail Pharmacy Manager, you will be instrumental in planning, managing, and continuously evaluating our retail pharmaceutical services. Your leadership will ensure that all operations adhere to the highest standards of practice, organizational policies, and all applicable state and federal regulatory requirements. You will serve as the designated Pharmacist-In-Charge, guiding our team and upholding our commitment to patient safety and quality care.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Operational Leadership: Plan, manage, and evaluate all retail pharmaceutical services.
  • Pharmacist-In-Charge (PIC): Fulfill all duties and responsibilities of the PIC for the assigned retail location.
  • Team Management: Directly manage and supervise facility pharmacy staff, including hiring, training, scheduling to ensure optimum staffing levels, and conducting performance management (evaluations, coaching, disciplinary actions).
  • Financial Stewardship: Achieve financial objectives related to labor costs, revenue generation, and gross margins for the pharmacy department.
  • Quality & Compliance: Implement and evaluate performance improvement initiatives; ensure the department's effectiveness in meeting clinical and service expectations; ensure full compliance with all regulatory requirements and professional standards.
  • Pharmaceutical Care: Function as a working pharmacist, providing pharmaceutical care activities and related services in accordance with established policies, procedures, State and Federal regulatory requirements, and Pharmacy Quality Assurance Commission-approved protocols.
  • Problem Solving: Assist staff with technical and clinical department activities and expertly troubleshoot and resolve complex retail pharmaceutical care issues.


Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BS in Pharmacy or PharmD from an accredited school of pharmacy
    Minimum of 2 years of retail pharmacy experience
    Immunization Continuing Education required if immunization services are provided and if required by state in which the employee works
  • Active Pharmacist License in good standing in California
    Basic Life Support CPR (Must be through the American Heart Association)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1+ years of supervisory or leadership experience

It is one of only two Level II trauma centers, the only Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and the only Joint Commission-certified Advanced Thrombectomy-Capable Stroke Center north of Sacramento north of Sacramento. Mercy Medical Center Redding is a 266-bed regional medical center providing inpatient and outpatient services as well as specialized cardiovascular care, stroke care, orthopedics, neurological surgery, comprehensive cancer care, maternity care, and a robust robotic surgery program.
