The posted compensation range of $32.38 - $48.17 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Program Coordinator, Research Account Management, you will serve as a Pre and Post Award Specialist within the Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP), instrumental in managing and maintaining the integrity of our sponsored research projects.

Every day, you will manage submissions for new and amended sponsored projects according to institutional guidelines. You will handle a high task volume by applying project management principles to prioritize and problem-solve. Responsibilities include financial analysis, contract/budget negotiation, ensuring timely review cycles, billing compliance, document harmonization, transparent workflows, and documenting contract milestones to increase revenue integrity. You will also develop policies, training, and facilitate internal/external partnerships to streamline processes, collaborating with a wide range of stakeholders from investigators to vendors.

In this role you will act as a critical communication bridge between internal research teams and facility collaborative departments such MRI clinical office surgery transfusion etc. This role combines the responsibilities of conducting research with relationship management and coordination function. You will be responsible for creating a new research scheduling process for the organization. The ideal candidate will have experience in the following: Managing clinical trial office dept scheduling to protool specifications Experience in integrated software solutions managing patient appointments ie Cerner Athena and Lawson Review research protocols for the purpose of executing protocol schedule of events Payer Coverage Analysis (PCA) for Clinical Research Trials. Clinical Research Trial builds in RealTime. Clinical Research Trial Revenue Integrity subject billing compliance Employ project management principles problem-solve and independently prioritize and create processes and working instructions. Develop positive working relationships with hospital departments other internal staff and external entities. Communicate effectively with individuals at all levels internal and external to organization. Work well independently as well as in a team environment to support administration efforts.



To be successful in this role, you will possess strong project management skills, a deep understanding of pre and post-award sponsored research processes, and financial acumen. Your ability to manage high-volume tasks, ensure compliance, foster cross-functional partnerships, and drive revenue integrity will be key in advancing our research endeavors.

  • Develop a collaborative pre and post-award team within DHRI (including vendor management) to develop and manage all research pre and post-award requirements. Activities include sponsored contract development, negotiations, and execution including the development, maintenance and management of a sponsored contract template library (in collaboration with Dignity Health legal), cost analysis and budget development, clinical trial billing management, approval and audit of purchase orders and research subject stipends. Coordinate and manage workflow for pre/post award project review functions of the DHRI AZ gatekeeper function to ensure timely reviews and metric management of identified approval timelines. Requires complex operational workflow capabilities to facilitate regulatory reviews and approvals within the pre-award process to facilitate post-award business management with an eye toward fiscal accountability, approval time cycles and transparency.   • Responsible for establishing workflows and managing all financial invoicing methodologies for reimbursement from complex performance based research contracts and federal grant awards across DHRI Arizona. Scope includes strong working knowledge of prime award and sub award contracting requirements, payment obligations, and federal reporting compliance responsibilities working within the framework of Dignity Health policies and systems. Oversee EMR financial and project management systems to monitor expenditures; patient charges; allocate costs; certify time and effort, and coordinate monthly/quarterly financial reporting statements to review with investigator(s) and program managers.   • Works closely with patient financial services internal and external to Dignity Health to develop a seamless workflow to register research patients and effectively manage patient research charges. Activities include depth of knowledge in research clinical trial billing and coding requiring high attention to detail per CMS regulations. Responsible to work collaboratively with research auditor to develop patient account audits on a routine basis to ensure accuracy of billed charges to CMS and other payors for patients enrolled in research protocols.   • Utilize leadership collaborative skills and research administration expertise to break down barriers and independently develop and/or oversee research business transactions related to the business of research operations involving sponsored project contracting negotiations, patient billing, contract milestones, and clinical research visit logs and project milestone logs. Establishes workflows and automation solutions to create efficiencies and minimize dependencies of manual transactions. Active participation in developing technology functional requirements to build solutions such as the Synapse Research Administrative Portal, Clinical Trial Management System (CTMS) and other software as identified.   • Initiates and develops Research Administration Support Services (business office) policies, procedures and working instructions. Initiates a proactive training program for all Research Program Managers. Works to facilitate a continuous learning environment to ensure all therapeutic program managers are knowledgeable on the pre/post award processes for research activities at Dignity Health as mandated by federal and state laws in compliance with local institutional obligations.   • Associates Other or equivalent job related experience and Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a legal or research environment in a business, hospital, judicial, or university setting., upon hire

Preferred

  • Bachelors Other in healthcare, accounting, finance, and or equivalentcombination of education and experience. and Minimum of three (3) years of experience in clinical research financial management in an university or hospital setting withdemonstrated knowledge of research budgets, research patient billing, coverage analysis, research grants management, general accounting and other financial processes., upon hire
