The posted compensation range of $24.00 - $28.87 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. Job Summary and Responsibilities
As a Central Core Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting the intraoperative team by ensuring the timely availability of sterile supplies and instrumentation for procedures performed in the Operating Room (OR). In this position, you will be responsible for communicating and coordinating between Central Sterilization and Surgery, as well as performing various tasks that expedite intraoperative care, including running errands and maintaining a clean, organized work environment.

In addition, your responsibilities will include maintaining sterilizers, accurately documenting logs, and performing routine cleaning to uphold infection control standards. You will also be tasked with providing age-appropriate supplies for patients spanning the neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations.

Upholding patient confidentiality in accordance with established policies and procedures is integral to this role. Your dedication to quality, attention to detail, and collaborative approach will help ensure a safe and efficient operating environment for both patients and staff.
  • Maintains a safe, therapeutic work environment at all times and identifies and addresses problems to the appropriate departments.
  • Adheres to the principles of infection control, including medical and surgical asepsis and isolation techniques. Demonstrates aseptic technique when required in the performance of job duties.
  • Understands and assures patient safety initiatives, not limited to: a. Assures all equipment is functioning before use.
  • Professional Development: Completes yearly goals that promote unit and personal growth. Actively participates in evaluation of learning needs and addresses them. Attends staff meetings and in services at least 80% of the time, maintains BCLS, unit and facility competencies, and TB skin test.
  • Communication: Communicates appropriately and clearly to the department manager, vendors, nursing staff , physicians and co-workers and other customers. Works to maintain a pleasant work environment for co-workers, patients and visitors.
  • LEADERSHIP
Job RequirementsRequired
  • High School Graduate General Studies or 2 years equivalent work experience., upon hire or
  • High School GED General Studies or 2 years equivalent work experience., upon hire and
  • Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program. and At least one year of experience as a surgical technician, upon hire and
  • Certified Sterile Processing and Dist Tech, within 12 - months and
  • Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire

Preferred
  • Surgical scrubbing experience
