The posted compensation range of $24.00 - $24.00 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. CommonSpirit may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Scheduler, you will orchestrate a seamless and efficient care process for patients and providers by coordinating appointments and managing schedules.

Every day you will schedule patient appointments and coordinate multiple provider schedules for medical procedures, tests, and studies. You'll ensure timely scheduling through effective communication, accurately gather and verify patient insurance and documentation, process reports, and provide exceptional customer service to patients via phone and in-clinic assistance.

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate strong attention to detail, multitasking abilities, and excellent communication and reasoning skills to manage scheduling complexities and patient inquiries, always striving for accuracy and efficiency.

  • Answering telephones and taking messages: Courteous, appropriate, timely greeting of individuals both in person and via telephone. Timely, accurate routing of messages to departmental personnel and patients/visitors.

  • Schedule Patients: Accurate patient scheduling. Courteous assistance in patient completion of registration information packet. Accurate identification of patient payor type.

  • Professional Behavior: Performs as a productive, cooperative member of the reception / Billing team.

  • Manage and obtain authorizations: Obtains insurance authorization for Rehab treatment as dictated by individual insurance plan types. Assists therapists in the monitoring of authorization frequency and duration compliance. Documents authorization in the patient's chart.

  • Daily charge input: Performs daily charge input into the Agency billing program with specifics regarding individual patient charges coming from the appropriate clinician.

Job Requirements

Required:

  • Must have knowledge and experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. and
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, clearly, concisely, and accurately, and possess excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrates basic knowledge of the principles and techniques employed in medical procedure billing.
  • Demonstrates ability to function in a team environment, collaborating with other patient care team members, physicians, patient, and their families.
  • Ability to excel in an environment with multiple distractions while attending to multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Able to produce under moderate to minimal direct supervision.
  • Demonstrates ability to organize and prioritize work efficiently.

Preferred:

  • Previous experience in a medical setting
  • Experience with Meditech
  • Proficiency in Spanish
