The posted compensation range of $19.01 - $26.85 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. CommonSpirit may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Medical Assistant at CHI St. Joseph's Health Clinic, now part of CommonSpirit Health, you’ll keep the day running smoothly and efficiently for your patients and clinical team. You’ll take the lead on proactively preparing patient charts- ensuring all information is obtained and up-to-date for those seen in our facility. You can expect to have multiple patients daily  depending on the number of physicians are on-site. 

You'll be responsible for supporting a provider(s) during a patient visit; including pre-visit, visit and post visit services.  To thrive in this role, you'll  maintain a high level of customer service and operational efficiency as a member of the care team performing a variety of tasks, under direct supervision of the provider(s) and clinic manager. 

  • Checks schedules and organizes patient flow.
  • Accompanies patients to the exam room and updates electronic medical.
  • Prepares patients for exams/procedures.
  • Assists/performs medication administration, dressings and collecting of lab specimens as instructed.
  • Relays information regarding follow-up care and return visit to patients and families.
  • Schedules tests and procedures as directed.

Job Requirements

Required

  • Medical Assisting Diploma and
  • Graduate of an accredited medical assistant program
  • Certified Clinical Medical Assistant, upon hire or
  • Certified Medical Assistant AAMA, upon hire or
  • Certified Medical Assistant NHA, upon hire or
  • National Certified Medical Assistant NCCT, upon hire or
  • National Registered/Certified Medical Assistant NAHP, upon hire or
  • Registered Medical Assistant, upon hire or
  • Registered Medical Assistant AMT, upon hire or
  • Cert Med Asst - MMCI, upon hire and
  • Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire
