The posted compensation range of $31.68 - $47.13 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Maintenance Engineer, you will be a critical technical leader, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and longevity of facilities, equipment, and systems.

Every day, you will design and implement preventive maintenance programs, conduct root cause analyses, and develop repair strategies. You'll oversee projects, manage budgets, ensure compliance, and collaborate to improve efficiency and operational integrity.

To be successful in this role, you will possess a strong engineering foundation, advanced technical troubleshooting skills, proven project management abilities, and a proactive, analytical mindset to minimize downtime and maximize asset life.

  • Maintains physical plant operations. Demonstrates ability to stand high pressure steam boiler watch.



      • Inspects and monitors all critical equipment and ensures proper function, including but limited to boilers, emergency generators and switchgear.


      • Maintains plant chillers, air compressors, vacuum pumps, pumps and associated equipment.


      • Conducts water tests and logs results.


      • Demonstrates ability to manipulate valves and pumps to get water to the boiler from more than one source


      • Demonstrates knowledge of what to do in each circumstance concerning low water, high water in sight glass


      • Accurately maintains boiler log.
  • Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration.



      • Completes repairs to and maintains HVAC systems at journeyman level.


      • Repairs refrigerators


      • Ensures comfort for patients and staff


      • Follows all established policies and procedures relating to such work.


      • Familiar with codes and titles relating to hospitals


      • Operates Energy Management System
  • Demonstrates ability to perform general maintenance and perform routine plumbing work.



      • Resolves maintenance issues as they present themselves i.e., call systems, minor carpentry, building repairs, flooring, and other miscellaneous work requests


      • Ability to repair small leaks, snake drain lines


      • Ability to replace damaged or old water lines.


      • Ability to replace washers and to repair flush valves.
  • Inspects and maintains electrical systems.



      • Ability to perform installation and inspection on electrical systems


      • Maintains and repairs electrical systems and devices at a journeyman level within Federal, State and Local laws and requirements.
  • Professional Conduct



      • Consistently offers directions and assistance to others in a courteous manner


      • Demonstrates good telephone courtesy.


      • Responds to complaints or inquires by listening attentively and showing concern and follows up appropriately
  • Documentation and record keeping.



      • Completes all documentation related to work orders and preventive maintenance, policies and procedures.
