The posted compensation range of $15.00 - $19.65 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. Job Summary and Responsibilities
As our Group Fitness Instructor, you will inspire and empower our members to achieve their health and wellness goals, creating engaging and effective workout experiences. You will be a key contributor to fostering a vibrant and supportive fitness community.

Every day you will lead dynamic group exercise classes, demonstrating proper form and technique, providing modifications, and offering encouragement to participants of all fitness levels.

To be successful in this role, you must possess strong communication skills, a comprehensive understanding of exercise physiology and anatomy, and relevant certifications in group fitness instruction.
  • Work Behavior: Responsible, reliable and honest in all member interactions and assigned tasks; demonstrates flexibility in job tasks; promotes good health and wellness to others by example; is punctual and trustworthy.
  • Communication: Exhibits exceptional customer service skills; able to interact in a positive and professional way with members and co-workers, exceeding the member’s expectations; encourages, educates and assists members with workouts; informs members if exercise is being performed incorrectly; and protects confidentiality of all members.
  • Member Safety: Demonstrates, reviews, and corrects members if exercise/equipment is being performed/used incorrectly in gym/pool, determines correct adjustments for individual and suggests starting weights and reps for individual; monitors members and maintains presence during open hours and utilizes PPE as necessary.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Ensures the facility is clean and meets expectations of Supervisor; responsible for light cleaning duties on gym floor, locker rooms, pool area and offices. Duties include but are not limited to: disinfecting machines, putting soiled towels in hamper, maintaining an adequate supply of towels in gym/pool areas and reports any additional environmental issues to Supervisor.
  • Clerical responsibilities: basic data entry; assists members with registration forms and key tags; monitors check-ins to identify delinquent accounts and notifies Supervisor; responsible for processing accurate cash/credit card transactions; performs other clerical duties as requested.
  • Professional growth: attends departmental and hospital education programs as instructed; maintains proper BLS/CPR certification.

Job Requirements
Required
  • High School Graduate General Studies and At least 6 months experience working in a health club, gym or other related activity, upon hire or
  • High School GED General Studies and At least 6 months experience working in a health club, gym or other related activity, upon hire
  • Basic Life Support - CPR, within 90 Days
