Job Summary and Responsibilities

Are you a Journeyman Electrician seeking to apply your expertise in a challenging and critical environment? Join our team and play a pivotal role in ensuring the uninterrupted performance and safety of our advanced electrical systems. We value your skill in maintaining cutting-edge infrastructure and adherence to the highest industry standards.

Your responsibilities will leverage a broad array of electrical competencies:

  • Full-Cycle Electrical Management: From new installations and alterations to repairs and maintenance, you'll work with diverse wiring systems, fixtures, conduit, lighting, switch panels, power plant controls, generators, and elevators – all while ensuring absolute compliance with National and State Electrical Codes and NESC.
  • Precision Diagnostics & Repair: Seamlessly identify and rectify intricate electrical power disruptions using advanced diagnostic tools. This includes testing, precise component repair/replacement, and rapid emergency interventions.
  • Strategic Preventative Maintenance: Proactively implement and oversee sophisticated preventative maintenance programs for critical equipment like variable-speed drives, motor control centers, and programmable controllers, ensuring peak operational efficiency.
  • Driving Modernization: Lead the charge in installing, modifying, and upgrading electrical systems, components, and associated equipment to maintain state-of-the-art infrastructure.
  • Multi-System Troubleshooting: Become the go-to expert for maintaining and repairing a wide range of electronic systems, including digital communications, fire alarms, CCTV, electronic security, intercoms, paging systems, pneumatic tubes, and complex motor controls.
  • Robust Power Distribution: Safely maintain, troubleshoot, and repair vital power distribution systems, from lighting and low-voltage switching to power panels, emergency generators, HVAC electricals, and automatic power transfer switches.
  • Informed Project Contribution: Analyze blueprints and specifications, provide accurate cost estimates for labor and materials, and offer expert recommendations for electrical projects.
  • Commitment to Safety: Uphold an unyielding commitment to safety, ensuring all work strictly adheres to industry best practices and regulatory compliance.
  • Resource Stewardship: Maintain and inspect hand and power tools to guarantee safe and efficient operation, coupled with vigilant management of electrical material supplies.

Job Requirements
  • Proven Experience: Demonstrated experience as a Journeyman Electrician, preferably in a hospital or critical infrastructure environment.
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong understanding of electrical systems, wiring, apparatus, and equipment for communication, lighting, heating, and power.
  • Code Compliance: In-depth knowledge of the National Electrical Code, State Electrical Codes, and National Electrical Safety Code.
  • Diagnostic Skills: Proficient in using voltage and amp meters, IFRA Red Cameras (infrared cameras), and other relevant testing equipment.
  • Blueprint & Specification Analysis: Ability to read and interpret plans, blueprints, and specifications accurately.
  • Troubleshooting Acumen: Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and repair complex electrical issues efficiently.
  • Safety-Minded: A strong commitment to safety standards and procedures.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks associated with electrical work.
  • Tool Maintenance: Proficiency in maintaining and repairing electrical hand and power tools.
  • Communication: Effective communication skills to collaborate with supervisors and other team members.



Licensure/Certification
• Possession of an active Washington State Journeyman Electrician license (Commercial 01) or equivalent per RCW 19.28.191.
