The posted compensation range of $70.94 - $82.26 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. CommonSpirit may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) , you will perform a variety of technical analyses, ensuring the quality and accuracy of all tests under the direction of the Laboratory Supervisor(s), Laboratory Manager(s), Laboratory Administrative Director, and Laboratory Medical Director (Pathologist).

Every day you will conduct a range of laboratory tests, meticulously verify results, and actively participate in quality assurance processes to uphold the highest standards of accuracy in patient diagnostics.

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate exceptional technical proficiency in laboratory analyses, a rigorous commitment to quality control, and an unwavering focus on producing accurate and reliable test results.

  • Weekend and varied shift rotations (including emergency) is expected
  • Establishes and maintains cooperative relationships with patients, staff using a humanistic attitude (anticipates needs, is respectful, caring and courteous).
  • Employee has met and acknowledged all initial / annual competencies as required for position
  • Evaluates test results by accessing, calculating and verifying using instrument protocol from observed data and reports via LIS and / or phone
  • Performs quality control tests evaluates data for accuracy and precision and troubleshoots problems if / when they occur
  • Supports the quality control program appropriate for the testing performed and recognizes the parameters for acceptable levels of analytic performance and ensures that these levels are maintained throughout the entire testing process from the initial receipt of the specimen, through sample analysis and reporting of test results.

Job Requirements

Required

  • Certificate Other chemical, physical, or biological science from an accredited institution
  • Clinical Lab Scientist:CA (CLS:CA) or Clinical Laboratory Technologist: CA (CLT-HEW:CA)

  • Bachelors Other in a chemical, physical, or biological science from an accredited institution.

  • 2 years working in a laboratory setting.

  • Ability to demonstrate a familiarity and understanding of medical terminology, typing, math and computer skills

  • Requires 1 year of training post baccalaureate

Preferred

  • 2 years working in a laboratory setting; and
  • Co-op or internship experience in a laboratory setting or prior acute care experience

This is a temporary Clinical Laboratory Scientist position for a period of three (3) months or longer to cover a leave of absence.
