The posted compensation range of $21.93-$28.13 is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. Job Summary and Responsibilities

Provides basic level of patient care and treatments. Assists with obtaining vital signs, documents chief complaint
and all actions taken. Alerts physician of problems/concerns/abnormalities. Assists with obtaining patient history,
assists physicians and residents and/or licensed nursing personnel. Performs simple patient procedures, sets up
exam/procedure rooms including instruments for minor procedures, prepares and may include administrating
medications (excluding IV) under direct supervision of a physician. Obtains lab specimen and fills out requisitions
completely and accurately. In addition to the above, the Medical Assistant II functions more independently and
coordinates the workflow of MAs
when necessary. Obtains authorization for referral (normally in small clinics). Conducts front desk duties such as
registration, check-in and scheduling of patients.

  • Maintains hospital standards of zero tolerance for mislabeled specimens and collects laboratory specimens
    according to hospital protocol
  • Assists the nurse/physician during examinations, treatments and procedures as requested
  • Retrieves necessary equipment and supplies
  • Assists in patient/equipment preparation
  • Performs follow-up actions as directed
  • Completes hospital forms per protocol
  • Documents clinically relevant findings in the patient's record according to hospital protocols and clinical protocols

Job Requirements

Required

High School Graduate?GED

(AZ) Certified Medical Assistant 

Other Completion of a US Armed Forces medical services training program

Computer program utilized for checking-in and scheduling patients

Basic Life Support - CPR


Preferred

Previous Medical Assistant Experience

Electronic Medical Record EMR experience

Experience in designated specialty area

Bilingual skills
