The posted compensation range of $18.96 - $26.78 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. Job Summary and Responsibilities

The Pharmacy Technician for Anticoagulation Clinic is responsible to support the Anticoagulation Clinic pharmacist(s) in the daily operations of the Anticoagulation Clinic. The Anticoagulation Clinic Technician will be responsible for interfacing with pharmacists, provider clinic office staff, and patients primarily via telecommunications and documentation in the electronic medical record. This position will represent CHI Health Pharmacy Anticoagulation Clinic and operate as a pharmacist extender and under the direct supervision of the Anticoagulation Clinic pharmacist(s) to field phone calls, schedule patient appointments, gather and record lab results, initiate chart documentation of patient encounters, provide appointment reminders to patients, and answering basic patient questions.

Essential Key Job Responsibilities

  • Establishes and maintains effective communications between the Anticoagulation Clinic and patients, the referring provider office, and Anticoagulation Clinic staff, and exemplifies excellent customer service during these interactions.
  • Collect laboratory results from various outside sources and record these results in the permanent medical record when not routinely available to aid with more efficient patient encounter management by the pharmacist(s).
  • Schedule patient appointments and provide reminders to patients of scheduled appointments to improve patient compliance with routine monitoring of their anticoagulation therapy.
  • Initiate chart documentation of patient encounters through gathering appropriate objective information.
  • Assist the clinic pharmacist(s) with monitoring and recording the operations of the Anticoagulation Clinic through developing and running routine reports, collecting data, running statistics, monitoring productivity and updating metrics and dashboards.
  • Maintain and provide established education materials to patients upon request and per established clinic guidelines.
  • Conduct patient medication history and update appropriately in the electronic medical record.
  • Communicate specific patient questions/concerns to overseeing pharmacist(s) when professional clinical judgment is required.
  • Additional retail pharmacy responsibilities as needed: retrieval of prescriptions from patients; data and prescription entry; prescription filling, general phone/customer service involving refills and resolving insurance issues; working with the cash register, or other duties as assigned. 

Job Requirements

Registered/licensed Pharmacy Tech in the State of NE (https://dhhs.ne.gov/licensure/pages/pharmacy-technician.aspx) required prior to start date.

Active CPT-EXCPT or CPT-PTCB or CPHT certification in good standing is required after one year from the registration/licensure date.
