Responsibilities

Northridge Hospital Medical Center is Seeking a Passionate Patient Safety Program Manager! This role is critical in promoting a culture of safety, identifying and mitigating potential risks, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. The Patient Safety Program Manager will work collaboratively with all departments and levels of staff to improve patient outcomes and prevent harm.

  • Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive patient safety program aligned with national standards and best practices.
  • Lead and facilitate the Patient Safety Committee, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
  • Monitor and analyze patient safety data, including incident reports, near misses, and adverse events, to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Oversee the organization's incident reporting system, ensuring timely and accurate reporting of events.
  • Conduct thorough investigations of serious safety events (e.g., root cause analysis, failure mode and effects analysis) to identify contributing factors and develop effective corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with the Risk Management department to identify and mitigate potential risks to patient safety.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements, including those from The Joint Commission, CMS, and state licensing agencies.
  • Develop and deliver patient safety education and training programs for all staff, including physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Participate in performance improvement initiatives to improve patient safety and quality of care.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum of five (5) years of risk management, patient safety, quality, compliance, and/or other related professional experience.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience managing/supervising employees and/or vendors.
  • CA RN License required. 
  • Fire Safety required. (must obtain within 90 days from start date)
