The posted compensation range of $24.00 - $26.14 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. CommonSpirit may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As a Physical Therapy Aide, you will provide personalized support and compassionate care to patients, aiding in their recovery and well-being.

Every day you will expertly assist with patient exercises, prepare treatment areas, maintain equipment, and meticulously document patient progress and therapeutic activities.

To be successful, you will demonstrate outstanding empathy, strong organizational skills, and a positive, encouraging demeanor, contributing to overall patient satisfaction and a healing environment.

  • Assists the physical therapist and physical therapist assistant in all patient related activities. Activities will take into consideration the age and/or developmental level of the patient.
  • Adequate preparation of patient prior to treatment and preparation of assistive devices, which may be needed and assures there is appropriate draping for patient and foot protection.
  • Maintains established levels of supplies to include, but not be limited to linens, treatment supplies, and office supplies to assure adequate inventory for patient care and departmental operations.
  • Maintains logs for cleaning/temperature checks of refrigerators, cleaning of hydrocollators, and other equipment as required.
  • Appropriate cleaning of whirlpool tanks before and after treatment (if appropriate). Appropriate disposal of waste accumulated with wound care and general therapy treatments. General cleaning and upkeep of Department.
  • Monitors and maintains supply of physical therapy evaluation forms, progress note forms, and all other forms used regularly by the therapists.
  • Assists therapist in appropriate and safe delivery of care to patients, prepares the patients for treatment, helps maintain department cleanliness and helps with clerical/receptionist duties as needed.

Job Requirements

Required:

  • High School Graduate or GED
  • Basic Life Support - we accept American Heart Association

Preferred:

  • Exposure or work experience in physical therapy or rehabilitation setting (inpatientand/or outpatient) which involved patient contact
