The posted compensation range of $32.38 - $48.17 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. CommonSpirit may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

Job Summary

Primary responsibility of this position is to solicit annual and major gifts in support of identified priorities and goals of Dignity Health - East Valley Hospitals. The Gift Officer will be responsible for establishing close working relationships with prospects and donors as well as the members of the board of Dignity Health East Valley Foundation, senior management and physicians to meet annual fundraising goals.

Essential Functions:

Manage and maintain an annual portfolio of 75-100 donors and prospects.

Work with designated staff to identify new prospects through research and pipeline sources.

Manage the qualification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of current donors and prospects.

Work with Board members, physicians, volunteers and hospital staff to identify potential donors, secure gifts and pledges and to connect with identified grateful patients.

Maintain frequent personal contact (in person, text and email) with a variety of constituents including donors and prospects.

Learn and maintain an operational knowledge of Blackbaud CRM and utilize the system to accurately track prospect plans and activity.

Attend Foundation, hospital, and community events as required or necessary - many of which might be outside of normal office hours.


Job Requirements

Minimum:

Education and Experience:

Bachelors Degree

Minimum of three (3) years experience  fundraising with a demonstrated ability to solicit and close gifts.

Preferred:

Masters Degree

Previous experience in healthcare fundraising

Located in the Phoenix, Ariz., suburb of Gilbert, the Mercy Gilbert Medical Center, is a 198-bed, not-for profit hospital with more than 1,300 team members and almost 900 doctors on staff representing all major specialties. In 2014, Phoenix Children’s Hospital launched a 22-bed pediatric unit inside the hospital. Mercy Gilbert opened in 2006 and has been a vital part of the growing community. Today it is the fifth largest employer in Gilbert. During the fiscal year ending June 30, 2016, Mercy Gilbert provided more than $24 million in community benefit. As a result of Dignity Health’s mission to deliver health care and partner with the community, more than 42,000 people in the East Valley were reached through community health services.
