The posted compensation range of $32.74 - $36.98 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. CommonSpirit may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law.

Responsibilities

Job Summary:

The Mental Health Technician is defined as a member of the Mental Health Unit healthcare team who is accountable for patient care supportive services under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse.


Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Certified nursing assistant, home health aide, nursing assistant, or direct patient care experience
    required, along with 2 years of behavioral health experience required.
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Has the ability to read, speak and write English in order to perform the duties of the position
  • Will maintain current competencies and certifications required
  • Ability to:
    • Work as a team member
    • Work effectively under multiple demands and adjust priorities as circumstances require to meet staffing needs
    • Maintain a high degree of accuracy and precision on consistent basis in the performance of procedures
    • Treat coworkers, patients, physicians and family with dignity and respect
    • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with all hospital staff
    • Maintain patient confidentiality
  • Physically able to work, stand, stoop and lift
  • Able to walk and stand at least 50% of the shift
  • Good manual dexterity and visual and auditory acuity
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
