Overview

As our Chaplain at CHI Williston Health, you will offer pastoral support to patients of all ages, employees, volunteers, and visitors as required for all faiths.  Is held accountable for policies and procedures of the department and organization.  This position supports the mission, vision, and philosophy of CommonSpirit Health.

Responsibilities
  • Visits patients/ families and staff to identify spiritual issues and needs.
  • Assist in planning spiritual education through department planned activities.
  • Assist in trauma situations as needed.
  • Assist in planning prayer services and providing spiritual resources for staff and patients.
  • Have knowledge of Advanced Directives and help in preparation of documents as requested.
  • Work collaboratively with all executives and managers as needed to maintain a level of operations to be in compliance with all regulatory agencies, including Joint Commission, federal, state, and local standards

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience

  • Graduate of an accredited seminary or school of theology
  • Minimum two (2) years of pastoral experience in Healthcare

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Training

  • Ability to minister to patients and families in crisis
  • Exceptional verbal communication skills
  • Ability to plan, organize, and exercise independent judgement
  • Ability to be open, flexible, and ecumenical
  • Knowledge of beliefs and practices of cultures related to death and dying
  • Possesses a sympathetic attitude toward caring for patients

Preferred Licensure and Certifications

  • BCC-APC; or CSCPE; or BCC-BCC; or CHAPLAIN
