Responsibilities

AmeriMed Infusion Pharmcy in West Chester, Ohio Now Hiring Fulltime Compounding Pharmacy Technician - $2,500 Sign On Bonus

Work Schedule (9:30 AM -6:00 PM) M-F. 

On Call Rotation every 6-8 weekends with one night during the week.  

At AmeriMed Home Infusion Pharmacy, we strive to embody our mission of delivering hope and healing to those we serve.The Compounding Pharmacy Technician, under direct supervision of a registered Pharmacist, measures and compounds medication, maintains patient records, performs those duties deemed acceptable by the State Board of Pharmacy. 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Measure and compound medication, maintaining patient records in accordance with State Board of Pharmacy standards.
  • Maintain Pharmacy Technician Certification; if not certified, obtain state-approved certification within 12 months of hire.
  • Assist with orientation and training of pharmacy personnel.
  • Work with insurance and medical providers, including billing and follow-up.
  • Participate in on-call rotation.
  • Program or double-check IV pump settings for accuracy.
  • Successfully complete yearly ACHC assessments of compounding standards.
  • Prepare and compound prescriptions under Pharmacist supervision.
  • Clean and calibrate compounding equipment per guidelines.
  • Perform sterile compounding per strict USP 797 guidelines and maintain up-to-date knowledge of these guidelines.
  • Communicate with patients regarding medication supply and deliveries.
  • Coordinate continuation/discontinuation of services and process refill prescriptions.
  • Assist Pharmacists in providing medication and healthcare products.
  • Prepare I.V. medications and supplies, and maintain a clean, organized pharmacy.
  • Execute all processes for compounded sterile preparations, adhering to USP 797 regulations and SOPs.

Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • State pharmacy technician licensure for Ohio. 
  • Obtains national certification within 12 months of employment .
  • Compounding Pharmacy Technician - Six months of sterile IV 
  • Compounding pharmacy technician experience.
  • Excellent customer service skills. 
  • Excellent math skills. 
  • Excellent communication skills, flexibility and ability to work as part of a 
  • multidisciplinary team
  • Self-directed with excellent time management skills and ability to work independently. 
  • Working knowledge of medical technology. 
  • Availability for full-time, regular day time hours and ability to work on-call hours.
