Responsibilities

Overview:

Reporting to the Physician Enterprise Market President Central Coast, the President and CEO  provides leadership,both operational and strategic, to the development of the Pacific Central  Coast Health Centers employed physician enterprise into an organized, well-managed network  of Physician practices. This leader will focus on Physician engagement, alignment, recruitment,  and retention strategies. The President will work collaboratively with the Physician Enterprise  Market President, Central Coast and System SVP Physician Enterprise to implement systems,  processes and standards for the health system’s employed physicians, both clinic and hospital  based. Will be allocated 75% administrative and 25% clinical (either inside or separate from  PHC).

ESSENTIAL KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborates with the Dignity Health and PHC executive team operations, finance, CMO, CNO, strategy, IT,  business intelligence, legal revenue cycle, and HR leaders
  • Provides operation and strategic leadership to employed physician enterprise, including the development of  priorities for and performance metrics.
  • Engages physicians, other leaders, and subject matter experts in the  development and implementation of divisional initiatives as needed. 
  • Oversees the development of the practice structures in collaboration with the PE Market President, SVP, CSO,  and CFO.
  • Champions the health care systems compensation initiatives with employed physicians.  Assures  compensation guidelines are followed. 
  • Oversees the development and implementation of the health care systems ambulatory quality initiatives.  Monitors the health systems ambulatory quality outcomes, identifies best practices and develops corrective  action on quality matters. 
  • Establish credibility with executive team peers, direct reports, physicians with the employed medical group,  the medical staff as a whole, and the health care system board. 
  • Develops a strong team, physician governance, physician leadership, and administrative leadership to  accomplish operation and strategic goals. 
  • Follows the primary care growth strategy and shows significant progress towards the achievement of the  goals in the plan. 
  • Is accountable for financial viability and success of physician enterprise in collaboration with the CFO and  CSO. 

Qualifications

Education

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD or DO) Medical degree or a masters in  health administration, administration or related field is required.

Experience

  • Ten years of experience with progressively more leadership  experience in large multi-specialty group practice or integrated  healthcare system.  
  • Demonstrated ability to lead multi- specialty groups of physicians.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a matrixed organization. 
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a dyadic leadership  model.
