The posted compensation range of $29.44 - $43.79 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. CommonSpirit may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

The Marketing Communications Specialist is responsible for supporting the implementation of marketing and communications efforts for the Medical Foundation and its affiliated medical groups throughout three-state area. Ensures that all actions taken and methods used to produce the results outlined below incorporate and promote the Mission and values of our sponsoring congregations. Supports the information needs of the organization by assisting in the production of quality publications, marketing communications materials and Web site content. Completes assigned work in a timely and professional manner; meets deadlines and budgetary guidelines, and adheres to Dignity Health's Graphics Standards and Stylebook. Maintains a positive working relationship with key contacts. Interfaces with community representatives, patients, staff, physicians, hospital and departments to foster open lines of communication. Supports the Marketing Communications department by assisting with other projects as assigned.

Essential Functions:

  • Develops annual marketing plans to grow business, works in conjunction with the Marketing Communications management , Administrators, physicians and staff, graphics designers, web site vendors and IT staff on marketing communications projects.
  • Creates marketing communications: print, broadcast and direct mail advertising, web site direction and maintenance, physician referral and promotion, market research. Writes and proofreads copy for print and broadcast ads and direct mail advertising when needed.
  • Develops plans and implement efforts to successfully launch new Medical Foundation sites.
  • Designs community relations/screenings: community sponsorships and events, classes, screenings and other business and community outreach activities designed to support marketing objectives. Developers and performs communication marketing needs for special events: recognition and milestone celebratory events.

Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelors in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
  • Seven years of experience in a staff level position in the field of marketing communications; three years of experience in writing and editing marketing communications

  • Marketing communications techniques and marketing theory. Project management and budgeting skills. Organizational skills with an attention to detail. Journalistic writing and news gathering skills. Demonstrated proofreading ability. Public relations techniques and communications theory. Time management skills. Word processing, spreadsheet, database and desktop publishing software capabilities and use. Works proactively and independently to manage marketing communications projects and initiatives.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Desktop publishing and healthcare experience
