The posted compensation range of $18.00 - $23.56 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. CommonSpirit may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

Transcribes documentation for office notes either from dictated notes from provider or direct observation
in exam room. Assists provider with proper completion of meaningful use criteria based on dictation.

  • Assists Provider in producing clinic visit documentation by transcribing dictation accurately and
    according to prescribed format within policy time frames for completion.*
  • Assist provider with accurately documenting quality metrics*
  • Participates, in internal Quality Management programs.*
  • Tracking of note completion with follow up with provider on incomplete documents.*
  • Types correspondence as required by department.*
  • Scanning of documents into patient medical record as required.*
  • Performs additional clerical and reception duties to Include greeting patients and visitors, answering and referring telephone calls and maintaining stock levels

Job Requirements
  • 1 year of transcription experience in a medical setting is preferred.
  • At least one year experience in a clinic office setting with knowledge of medical terminology and areas of
    anatomy and physiology are required.
  • Competency - At a minimum, all persons performing documentation assistance have the education or
    training on the following:
    • Medical terminology
    • Health Insurance Portability
    • Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA)
    • Principles of billing, coding, and reimbursement
    • Electronic medical record (EMR) navigation and functionality, as appropriate based on job description
    • Computerized order entry, clinical decision support and reminders, and proper methods for pending orders for authentication and submission
