The posted compensation range of $20.91 - $29.54 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. This position is over 50% direct leadership working hands on with the team.

What You'll Do & The Impact You'll Make:

As our Nutrition Services Supervisor, you will be the driving force behind our department's success, ensuring that our food service operations run seamlessly and expertly. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Operational Leadership: Strategically plan, organize, and direct the day-to-day operations of the Nutrition Services department, ensuring strict compliance with all current Federal, State, and Local standards, guidelines, and regulations.
  • Team Management & Development: Lead, mentor, and manage a dedicated team, including storeroom clerks and cooks. This involves recruiting, hiring, performance management, assigning duties, and fostering professional growth within a supportive environment.
  • Quality & Safety Assurance: Champion best practices in food safety and infection control, working closely with staff to maintain a safe, sanitary, and impeccably organized storage and food preparation facility.
  • Patient-Centered Service: Oversee the provision of daily nutritional and special dietary needs for patients, visitors, and catering events, ensuring meals are not only nourishing but also contribute to a positive and healthy experience at Carrington Hospital.
  • Customer & Staff Engagement: Actively solicit and manage feedback from patients, staff, and customers to continuously assess and enhance the level of service provided by the Nutrition Services team.
  • Menu Innovation: Collaborate on the development and refinement of appetizing and balanced menus for patient meals, cafeteria service, and special event catering.
  • Process Improvement: Proactively maintain and enhance established departmental operational systems and contribute to the development of new, more efficient processes as a key member of the management team.
  • Resource Optimization: Ensure adequate staffing levels for daily operational needs, balancing efficiency with quality of care.


Job Requirements

  • Registered Dietitian or Certified Dietary Manager certification required within two years of hire. 
  • ServSafe Food Protection Manager upon hire.
  • ServSafe certification required within 60 days of hire. 
  • Two (2) years of experience in food service or one (1) year of hospital nutrition experience.
  • Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

CHI Carrington Health, now part of CommonSpirit Health formed by the alignment of Catholic Health Initiatives (CHI) and Dignity Health, have a variety of skills from clinical to project management. In our Critical Access Hospital, you will be exposed to the emergency department, acute care (Med/Surg), swing bed, surgery, outpatient treatment, and so much more!
