Responsibilities

Overview:
The Supervisor oversees multi-modality technologists across MRI, CT, Interventional Radiology, Ultrasound, and Radiology services. Reporting to the Director of Imaging Services, this role collaborates closely with the PACS Administrator and Nursing Supervisor in Radiology to ensure efficient department operations and exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct all activities and staff within the Radiology Department, including scheduling and monitoring daily operations.

  • Plan and assign patient service areas for all admitted patients to optimize workflow and care.

  • Compile quarterly and annual summaries of departmental Quality Assurance (Q.A.) activities.

  • Maintain and compile Physician peer review reports to support clinical quality.

  • Participate in continuing education courses and seminars to maintain professional competency.

  • Engage in quarterly radiation safety committee meetings to uphold safety standards.

  • Facilitate communication and collaboration with Radiologists, Physicists, and Medical Staff Physicians.

  • Assume all duties of the Director of Imaging Services in their absence and participate in assigned weekend coverage rotations.

  • Perform all mandated monitoring, calibrations, and wipe tests in compliance with radioactive materials licensing and departmental policies.

  • Utilize hospital computer systems for management reporting and data entry functions effectively.

  • Demonstrate safe and competent use of departmental equipment, including fax machines, telephones, copying machines, computers, stationary/spect gamma cameras, portable gamma cameras, dedicated nuclear computers, isotope calibrators, radiation survey meters, and basic emergency equipment (E.K.G., Coronary Defibrillator).

  • Provide care and service to a broad patient population, from critically ill newborns to geriatric patients, with sensitivity to the functional and developmental age of each individual.


Qualifications

Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years of prior experience as a Diagnostic Technologist required.

  • Prior supervisory experience preferred.

Education:

  • High School graduate required; Associate’s degree preferred.

Licensure and Certifications:

  • Current CA Radiology Technologist (CRT) required.

  • Current AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) card required.

  • Current ARRT Certification preferred.

  • Current Fluoroscopy Permit preferred.

  • Current IV Certification preferred.

Special Skills:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.

Training:

  • Proficiency with PACS system usage and understanding.

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications (Email, Word, Excel).
