Responsibilities

The Respiratory Care Practitioner III is responsible for delivering advanced respiratory care, including cardiopulmonary resuscitation, advanced airway management, and related diagnostic procedures. This role serves as a resource for the nursing staff, ensuring care aligns with department and hospital policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide advanced respiratory care, including airway management and cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
  • Perform diagnostic procedures related to respiratory therapy.
  • Act as a resource for nursing staff, offering expertise and guidance as needed.
  • Uphold the Mission and Core Values of Community Hospital of San Bernardino through professional and patient-focused care.
  • Contribute to the hospital’s strategic goals and participate in quality improvement initiatives.

This position requires clinical expertise, strong communication skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality care in alignment with the hospital’s Mission and strategic objectives.


Qualifications
  • One (1) year previous experience as an RCP in acute care is preferred. Two (2) years of acute care experience, including critical care and neonatal intensive care for lead therapist positions is preferred.
  • Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy Program. Respiratory care services is pediatric department shall be provided by respiratory care practitioners who are licensed by the state of California and who have completed formal training in pediatric respiratory care which includes didactic and clinical experience.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support(PALS) and Neonatal Resuscitation program (NRP) certification is required. 
  • Experience in pediatric mechanical ventilation and airway management for working in the pediatric sub-acute unit is preferred.

 Additional competencies apply for RCP II, and RCP III. Experience in pediatric mechanical ventilation and airway management for working in the pediatric sub-acute unit is preferred.
