Responsibilities

The Revenue Cycle Specialist provides direct revenue cycle support to assigned regional/business entity. This includes analyzing reports and data associated with revenue cycle performance to identify areas of improvement related to people, process or technology. On site, face to face interaction with resources involved in revenue cycle tasks to ensure resources have knowledge of process and expectation; coordinating training as needed; act as advocate for process or system change to improve revenue cycle performance.

  • Review monthly KPI report and identify under-performing metrics to research and understand the root cause.
  • Act on findings in a collaborative but efficient manner including escalation as needed.
  • Review weekly Missing Charge report and communicate with Clinic Ops leadership regarding outliers or significant delinquent charges. Escalate as needed.
  • Review weekly Past Pended/Rescheduled Appointment report and communicate with Clinic Ops leadership regarding outliers. Escalate as needed.
  • Review TES edits to ensure appropriateness. Act on unnecessary edits due to operational inefficiency upstream in revenue cycle.
  • Ensure timely resolution to edits based on standards defined. Escalate as needed.
  • Monitor Ingenious Med to ensure timely patient registration in aIDX, if used in assigned group/regional market.
  • Monitor charge volume by Provider to identify outliers. Act on findings in a collaborative but efficient manner including escalation as appropriate.
  • Collaborate with Business Office and Clinic Ops management to assess business needs related to revenue cycle and assist with identifying existing system enhancements or new technology to meet those needs
  • Collaborate with aIDX Systems training team to develop front desk workflows and processes for revenue cycle management efficiencies
  • Assist with resolution to repetitive revenue cycle errors people, process or technology

Qualifications

MINIMUM

  • High School Diploma / GED

  • 3 years experience working in healthcare revenue cycle.

  • Analytical skills to identify key issues from large amounts of detail data.

  • Demonstrated ability to recognize opportunity for creating operational efficiency.

  • Perform root cause analysis to determine origin of issues with the aim of correction.

PREFERRED

  • AA/AS degree in Health Care Administration or related field
  • Physician revenue cycle experience.
  • 5 years experience working in healthcare revenue cycle.

  • Experience training/mentoring others.

  • aIDX knowledge: SCHED, BAR, TES, ETM
