Job Summary:

St. Joseph’s Foundation is seeking a dynamic and mission-driven Manager of Annual Giving to lead and grow the Foundation’s annual giving initiatives in support of St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center. This position is responsible for planning, organizing, and executing a comprehensive calendar of fundraising programs, including signature Foundation events, third-party fundraisers, direct mail campaigns, and employee giving initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the strategic planning and execution of annual fundraising events and third-party fundraisers to build community engagement and philanthropic support.

  • Manage a portfolio of annual donors, providing personalized stewardship and engagement opportunities with the goal of deepening relationships and increasing philanthropic support over time.  

  • Manage the hospital’s annual employee giving campaign, cultivating internal champions and ensuring high participation and impact.

  • Develop and implement a compelling direct mail strategy to acquire, retain, and upgrade donors, in alignment with broader Foundation goals.

  • Collaborate with communications, development, and hospital leadership teams to create compelling messaging and donor experiences that inspire giving.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Minimum of three (3) years experience in a professional fundraising role with a demonstrated ability to solicit and close gifts.

Special Skills:

  • Excellent verbal, written (proposals), and presentation skills.
  • Ability to think strategically to plan, solicit, close, and steward gifts at various levels.
  • Ability to develop substantive relationships with prospects and donors.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with board members and volunteers to raise gifts at various levels. Ability to work in a team environment to meet annual goals.
  • Proficient in office computer technology – including Google applications.

Training:

  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills, good oral and written communications skills and the ability to relate and form relationships with the hospital family, donors and prospects.
  • The Gift Officer should exhibit a level of personal and professional sophistication and style commensurate with that of the donor/prospect pool.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Master's Degree
  • Previous experience in healthcare fundraising.
