Responsibilities

This role is responsible for overseeing and supporting the daily operations of the Student Placement Program for Virginia Mason Franciscan Health (VMFH) hospital/outpatient facilities as it provides practical work-based learning opportunities consistent with course requirements for their specific clinical education program. VMFH partners with local colleges and universities to provide over 3,000 clinical placement opportunities for students enrolled in healthcare education programs and is committed to supporting student learning by providing hands-on clinical experiences. The placement of students is a strategic recruitment opportunity for VMFH to attract and retain key members of our workforce, as well as an opportunity to participate in the educational process while receiving valuable work contributions from the student participants.


Work also includes: 1) Maintaining regulatory requirements and documentation for students placed for clinical experiences within VMFH. 2) Ensuring the quality of the program meets the needs of program stakeholders. 3) Arranging all necessary resources and tools for students to be fully equipped for their work-based learning opportunities. 4) Managing communications with colleges and students 5) Collaborating with internal stakeholders to identify placement and process improvement opportunities. 6) Serving as a point of contact for resolution of program issues. 7) Executing, maintaining and monitoring affiliation agreements with colleges, universities and other educational organizations for the placement of students within VMFH.


Work requires working knowledge of federal and state-specific regulatory requirements. Work also requires knowledge of the essential functions/requirements of various clinical disciplines and VMFH positions, student placement standards and practices, and contract compliance methodologies.


Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:

Associate’s degree in a related field and two years of related work experience, preferably in a healthcare environment that demonstrates attainment of the requisite job knowledge skills/abilities.
Or any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the essential functions of the position.

Preferred:

Certification as a Project Management Professional (PMP).
