Responsibilities

The Region Chief Human Resources Officer/Vice President-Human Resources (Region CHRO) provides strategic and functional oversight for all Human Resources activities within their geographic and operational scope. Leading a team of human resources professionals, the Region CHRO is responsible for the delivery of high-quality and timely human resources services to their regional business partners and ensures the efficient implementation of a single CommonSpirit Health Human Resources delivery model which aligns local HR structures, processes, and systems with Organizational HR strategies. Applies human resources expertise in support of the strategic business objectives of CommonSpirit Health.


ESSENTIAL KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES


● Provide strategic and functional oversight for all human resources activities within their Region.
● Ensure the efficient implementation of a single CommonSpirit Health Human Resources delivery model which aligns local HR structures, processes, and systems with Organizational HR strategies.
● Develop and implement a comprehensive regional People strategy that is aligned with Organizational initiatives and the ministry’s 's business goals and objectives.
● Foster partnerships across the People team and Centers of Excellence to deliver value-added service to all clients and employees.
● Serve as a strategic business advisor to regional business leaders regarding key Organizational and management issues. Provide advice and consultation on a wide array of issues within their scope, including dispute resolution, performance management, interpretation and application of policies and procedures, etc.
● Manage the implementation and consistent application of policies, procedures, and programs that support human resources operations. Ensure all HR functions within their area of responsibility are compliant with relevant laws, regulations, and best practices.
● Support the development of CommonSpirit’s culture and serve as a cultural ambassador modeling positive leadership behaviors.

● Proactively engage employees to improve working relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention; communicate openly and frequently, keeping staff informed of Organizational events and other pertinent information.
● Effectively communicate and support CommonSpirit’s mission and strategic vision.
● Apply human resources expertise in support of the strategic business objectives of CommonSpirit Health.
● Maintain ultimate responsibility for the quality and timeliness of all human resources services delivered by their teams across the Region.
● Oversees the development of and adherence to annual budgets for all functional areas of responsibility.
● Build a culture within areas of direct responsibility to set and implement organizational goals that support the mission and values of CommonSpirit Health.
● Manages staff that report up to the position; periodically provide ELT insights and strategic updates at team meetings; support CommonSpirit’s Culture and Employee Engagement initiatives.
● Serve on internal management boards and committees, as requested.
● Responsible for remaining knowledgeable on Healthcare Industry's trends, directions, major issues, regulatory considerations and trendsetters; ability to apply this knowledge appropriately to diverse situations.


Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:

● Master's degree or a combination of education and/or additional job-related experience in lieu of the degree.
● Minimum of ten (10) years leading and executing progressive business, workforce and operational strategies; Five years experience in all aspects of the planning, design, management and administration of Human Resources policies, programs and practices.

Required Licensure and Certifications:

● PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP preferred.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Training:

● Initiating and maintaining strategic relationships with stakeholders inside and outside the organization (e.g., customers, patients, peers, cross-functional partners, external vendors, and alliance partners) to advance business goals.
