Responsibilities

Position Summary:

This dynamic position is responsible for daily managerial / administrative oversight of the Cardiovascular Data Reporting Department, including budgeting, planning, developing, organizing, directing, training, implementing, supervising, and evaluating all activities and employees of the department. This position is integral to the production, reporting, and improvement of cardiac clinical outcomes which assist the organization to attain a position of optimal quality outcomes, operational performance, program growth, financial performance, and market share for the cardiovascular service lines.

Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Performs, monitors, coordinates, communicates all aspects of state and national cardiovascular data registries (i.e. Society of Thoracic Surgeons, American College of Cardiology Cath/PCI and AICD, California CABG Outcomes Reporting Project) including data collection, integrity, results analysis, reporting, contracting, regulatory compliance and outcomes improvement.
  • Performs, monitors, coordinates, communicates cardiac TJC and core measure collection, reporting, and performance improvement.
  • Develops, implements, maintains, monitors evidenced based cardiovascular peer review indicators, process improvement, procedural appropriateness, and physician profiling in conjunction with medical staff.
  • Develops systems and processes to provide cardiovascular operational and outcomes data for use by administration team to support and improve operational efficiencies, contract compliance, resource utilization, and managed care contract attainment.
  • Develops and produces comprehensive Cardiovascular Outcomes report to assist organization with increase in patient referrals, physician recruitment, and market growth.
  • Serves as principle site contact and systems resource regarding cardiovascular data and database systems for IT, Cardiology Council, and Cardiovascular data vendors.
  • Assists the Director of Cardiovascular Services with program growth and development.


Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Current CA RN license.
  • At least three (3) years experience as a registered professional nurse in an acute or critical cardiac care setting with advanced preparation and knowledge of the cardiac system.
  • At least two (2) years experience in data collection and management including national data registry and public reporting initiatives.
  • At least two (2) years experience in quality improvement with demonstrated process improvement results, as well as experience with physician peer review and physician and hospital performance reporting.
  • At least two (2) years managerial experience including budget preparation, capital proposals, submissions of requests for information.
    Advanced preparation in clinical data analysis and application of statistical tools, or research methodology.
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related Health Care field.
  • Must be highly computer literate to include MS Office and statistical software. 
  • Must have excellent communication and presentation skills. 

Preferred Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Nursing is preferred with a focus on healthcare informatics, healthcare administration or a related field.
