The posted compensation range of $64.43 - $74.70 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. Job Summary and Responsibilities

Job Summary:

Demonstrates competency in patient care for adolescent, adult and geriatric patients. Under the supervision of Leadership Team and the direction of a cardiologist, the EP Technologist performs three roles: 1.The EP Technologist sets up and operates specialized equipment to include: a physiological data recording system and related computers, programmable stimulators, mapping system, various generators for ablation procedures. 2.The EP Technologist assists Cardiac Electrophysiologists in the performance of EP Lab procedures by: analyzing electrocardiograph data, perform program stimulation of the heart, induce and terminate cardiac arrhythmia by overdrive pacing or DC cardio version, apply energy to catheters for purposes of arrhythmia ablation, create 3D maps of cardiac chambers to evaluate electrical conduction of tachycardias, enters resulting procedural data into the Cardiovascular programs clinical database. 3.The EP Technologist assists Cardiac Electrophysiologists and Cardiologists in the performance of invasive procedures related to intra-cardiac defibrillators and pacemakers, sets up sterile table, assists in the application of sterile drapes, hands sterile instruments and sutures to the physician during the procedure, performs after-care of surgical instruments.  May have access to or be required to distribute drugs, needles or syringes from storage locations, (such as large stock supplies, automated dispensing units and other carts) to/within patient care areas or treatment carts as defined by hospital policy/procedure.


Job Requirements

$5,000 Sign-On Bonus offered for qualified new hires. Per policy, current employees are not eligible.

REQUIRED:

  • Previous experience in cardiovascular or cardiopulmonary technology in cardiac electrophysiology or cath lab.
  • American Heart Association, Basic Life Support (BLS).
  • Knowledge of:
    • 1.Radiation safety requirements and practices for the operator, Title 17.
    • 2.Anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
    • 3.Pacemaker equipment and programming.
    • 4.Aseptic techniques.
    • 5.Cardiopulmonary resuscitation
    • 6.Database applications and collection of data.
    • 7.Reporting of patient procedural and department activities.
    • 8.Cardiac hemodynamics. 9.Advanced ECG interpretation.
    • 10.Various ablation therapies.
    • 11.Electrical and mechanical mapping of the heart chambers
    • 12.Operation of hemodynamic monitors, computers.
  • Ability to:
    • 1.Move quickly and perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation while wearing radiation protection apparel.
    • 2.Assist with pacemaker insertion, electrode catheter insertions, and related procedures.
    • 3.Maintain patient confidentially.
    • 4.Follow established procedures and protocols.
    • 5.Work effectively under stress and adjust priorities, as circumstances require.
    • 6.Organize work assignments, maintaining accurate and complete records.
    • 7.Work with minimum supervision

Preferred:

  • RCES

When staffing is experienced enough to support a trainee, applicants without requisite experience may be considered. NASPE Testamur designation required within two years.
