Responsibilities

In the newly created position of Physician Contract Analyst, you will manage all phases of the physician contracting process from contract initiation to closeout for various provider contracts, hospital transfer agreements, Professional Services agreements, recruitment of Physicians and APPs, rotation agreements, students, and residents. Serves as the central point of contact for all physician contracts, to include working closely with the President, COO and Chief Medical Officer of DHMG, physician leaders when applicable, service line leaders, finance, compliance and legal departments to insure physician contracts and agreements are in compliance with all legal, governmental, and regulatory requirements.

  • Works with the DHMG leadership and recruitment team to provide the contract Physician employment agreements (PEA) that includes recruitment of physicians and APPs. Also, will work with DHMG team to identify new coverage and contract opportunities for provider service agreements, call agreements, updates to contracts to Physician employment agreements (PEA, and provide contracting for Professional Services Agreements (PSAs). All of this work and request will be in partnership with the Legal Department through electronic Legal Service Request (eLSR). Also, will review contract terms for accuracy, partners with legal on implementing amended agreements, oversees contract execution and dissemination to key stakeholders. Another key stakeholder will be submission through the Physician Transaction Group for assessment of compliance of the contract.

  • Measures contracting metric performance using appropriate tools and techniques.
  • Initiates and compiles all required documentation to initiate a new, amended, and/or terminated contract.
  • Evaluates the integrity and compliance of physician invoices.
  • Assembles and assesses important details of contracting entities from medical staff services, Arizona state medical board, and Arizona secretary of state office to evaluate eligibility of contracting entities.
  • Performs timely fair market value analysis to substantiate contract rates and associated time allotments for each provider's discipline and contract type.
  • Develops and implements continuous performance improvement pathways for physician contracting.
  • Sends executed contracts to Legal and uses the Remote Online Access to Reports (ROAR) contract database and maintains contract compliance files.
  • Prepares reports and tracks contracts using ROAR to insure contracts are renewed or terminated in a timely manner.
  • Partners with legal on contract language negotiation, modification, and development of new agreements.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Experience and Education Required:

  • Five years experience in contract management and/or legal services.
  • Bachelor's degree, or Associates Degree with equivalent job related experience.

Special Skills Required:

  • Ability to develop, plan, and deliver multiple projects simultaneously with minimal direction.
  • Demonstrated experience utilizing electronic database tools.
  • Exceptional proofreading, writing, and editing skills.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, specifically Outlook, PowerPoint, Word and Excel.
  • Consistently exhibits a high level of professionalism.

Preferred / Desired Experience, Education and Skills:

  • Five years of experience in ambulatory care or multi-specialty setting.
  • Previous experience in healthcare law.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Health Care Administration, or pre-law field of study.
  • Familiarity with Google Workspace.

Dignity Health Medical Group is the employed physician group of Dignity Health. Dignity Health Medical Group (DHMG) employs approximately 400 providers and 1,200 total employees that cover a wide variety of specialties. The medical group has had tremendous success over the past few years and now provides more than 73 subspecialty services. The physicians provide clinical services in their areas of specialty and many serve in pivotal academic, research and leadership roles.

DHMG is also heavily involved in preparing tomorrow's healthcare providers. DHMG has 84 medical school students and approximately 200 residents and fellows throughout the 25 academic programs. Clinical services are complemented with translational and bench research to augment medical education for residents and students.
