The posted compensation range of $18.60 - $26.27 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. Responsibilities

Responsible for scheduling outpatient diagnostic exams for the various departments. The scheduling of exams includes
obtaining accurate patient demographic, clinical and financial information and the coordination of available resources to
meet the needs of the patient. may include billing responsibilities.

1. Receive incoming telephone calls; from physician offices, patients, or patient walk‐ins and schedule the requested
outpatient test(s).
2. Collect the appropriate level of demographic, clinical and financial information; including patient’s name, date of
birth, ordering physician, ordered test(s), diagnosis, telephone number(s) and payment mode(s).
3. Take into consideration the proper protocols for conducting each ordered test(s).
4. Assess the proper amount of time that is required for the ordered test(s) and place the test(s) on the various
department schedules.
5. Inform the physician office or patient of their testing schedule, including time and location of each test, and any
special instructions for preparation for the testing schedule.
6. Receive physician orders for future scheduled events, verify accuracy of order and document receipt of order.
7. Prepare the next day’s schedule and match all “in‐house” orders with that schedule. Research any missing orders
that are documented in the system but are not present in the department.
8. Coordinate with the various department’s for requests for same day add‐ons or special situations requiring a
department’s approval.

9. Review future day’s schedules for errors and inconsistencies and make the necessary corrections.
10. Review future day’s schedules for physician orders and place the necessary calls to the physician’s offices to remind
them to send an order for their patient scheduled test(s).
11. Prepare and send out various printed schedules and audit reports, on a daily basis, for both departments and
physician offices.
12. Maintain the scheduling system at optimum operating efficiency by “closing out” scheduled events and archiving
those account to journal files.
13. May be Responsible for timely, accurate billing of all appropriate patient charges


Qualifications

Required Education and Experience

*High School Diploma/GED
*Two (2) years of related PAS work experience

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Training

*Regularly exhibits interpersonal skills conducive to positive guest relations
*Mature, poised, and possess good judgment to deal diplomatically and effectively with a variety of people
*Demonstrate effective communication skills and interviewing techniques necessary for telephone contact
*Must demonstrate the ability to function as a member of a team
*Attention to detail; high level of accuracy
*Typing Test may be conducted: At least 40wpm
*Must be able to work in a fast paced environment
