Responsibilities

The Supervisor of Patient Access oversees the daily operations of the patient access department, ensuring efficient and accurate patient registration, insurance verification, and financial clearance processes. This role involves supervising a team of patient access representatives, providing training and mentorship, monitoring performance metrics, and implementing process improvements to enhance the patient experience and optimize revenue cycle performance. The Supervisor also serves as a point of escalation for complex patient access issues and collaborates with other departments to ensure seamless patient flow and adherence to regulatory requirements.

  • Responsible for supervising, guiding and motivating the registration department.
  • Monitors the accuracy of data entry by registration staff.
  • Serves as an escalation point for patient issues and questions.
  • Train new staff on patient access duties, as well as company & departmental policies.
  • Work collaboratively with Dignity health counterparts, revenue integrity and other departments on issues relating to patient registration, insurance verification and patient flow.

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Minimum of two (2) years experience in related field in a hospital/physician office setting
  • American Heart Association-issued BLS card

Preferred:

  • Supervisory Experience
  • Bachelor's degree
