St. Clare Hospital is looking for a passionate and experienced Sonographer to join our growing Diagnostic Imaging team. About the Role:

As a Per Diem Sonographer at St. Clare Hospital, you will be an integral part of our patient care team, performing a wide range of ultrasound examinations across various specialties, including general, cardiac, and sub-specialties. You will be responsible for:

  • Performing comprehensive ultrasound examinations: Utilizing your expertise to obtain high-quality images of blood, organs, tissues, and bodily masses, ensuring optimal diagnostic information for our physicians.
  • Delivering patient-centered care: Providing compassionate and professional care to patients of all ages, explaining procedures thoroughly, and ensuring their comfort and well-being throughout the examination process.
  • Maintaining equipment excellence: Operating and maintaining ultrasound equipment according to AIUM standards and department protocols, including troubleshooting, performing quality control checks, and ensuring adequate supplies.
  • Collaborating for optimal outcomes: Working closely with radiologists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to facilitate accurate diagnoses, relay critical information promptly, and contribute to a collaborative care environment.
  • Embracing continuous learning: Staying current with the latest advancements in sonography through continuing education, professional meetings, and individualized learning opportunities, adhering to FHS standards and protocols.

Qualifications

What You'll Bring:

  • Associate's degree from an accredited training program in General diagnostic sonography.
  • Recent completion of a twelve-month internship in diagnostic ultrasound (with at least six months in General ultrasound) or equivalent recent directly-related work experience demonstrating attainment of the requisite job knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • In-depth knowledge of ultrasound principles, procedures, and techniques.
  • Proficiency in operating and maintaining ultrasound equipment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Current healthcare provider BLS Certification.
  • Registration with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or Certification in Sonography by the American Association of Radiology Technologists (ARRT) is required.
    • For Non-Registered Sonographers: We offer a temporary classification with one year from the date of hire to obtain ARDMS registration.
