Responsibilities

Reporting to the Region VP and Chief Mission Officer, the Nevada Market Director provides leadership to assure the strategic and operational integration of Mission as a core business process. This leader is a member of the Market senior management team regularly influencing discussions and actions and serves the Market President in ensuring a mission-based, ministry-driven organization.


The Market Director, Mission serves a key role in shaping the growth and culture of the Market, a culture grounded in CommonSpirit Health’s core values of Compassion, Inclusion, Integrity, and Collaboration and expressed in spirituality reflective of the heritage and faith tradition on which CommonSpirit Health was founded.


As a member of the organization’s leadership team, the position provides operational leadership, oversight and a collaborative spirit ensuring the hospital’s Catholic identity, mission, and core values are effectively communicated and integrated into all facets of the organization.

Essential Functions

  • Act as partner for the Market President to ensure effective and efficient assessment and integration of mission throughout the market.
  • Provide executive leadership and oversight for the Mission team within the Market.
  • Lead and develop prioritized solutions and strategies for the integration of Mission.
  • Ensure integrity of Catholic faith teachings and ethical principles in operations.
  • Collaborate with HR in the oversight and implementation of culture development.
  • Maintain regular contact with diocesan leadership and advise leadership of appropriate issues.
  • Ensure provision of spiritual health care for patients, families, caregivers, and employees providing leadership in developing workplace spirituality initiatives, and engaging local faith communities in the health care ministry.
  • Provide leadership and oversight of Ethics, Spiritual Care, Community Benefit and Community Health Needs Assessment/Planning procedures, Ministry Formation ensuring appropriate infrastructure and alignment with Market and Hospital needs and goals.

Qualifications

Minimum Education Required:

  • Master level Required. Divinity or Theology preferable;
  • Health Care or Business  Administration, Health Care Ethics or Bioethics, or a related field acceptable.

Minimum Experience Requirements:

  • A minimum of three years of progressive leadership experience in a fast-paced transformative Catholic health care ministry having clearly demonstrated a combination of vision and energy with a solid track record of achievement in mission, spirituality, community health, advocacy, and/or ethics.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Training:

  • Ability to work collaboratively, garner support and trust, manage conflicts and champion initiatives related to mission and community health across a broad, highly matrixed, and complex organization.
  • Familiarity with adult learning theory. Solid understanding of health care operations, corporate structure, and relationships; ability to delegate, organize and enable people to effectively accomplish their tasks; ability to plan, organize and implement.
