Responsibilities

Personnel assigned on shifts to carry out planned activities of the security program as well as any authorized duties relating to emergency management functions. 

  • Follows up on pending security issues.
  • Implements requirements of the Security Management Plan.
  • Manages and coordinates responses to critical incidents.
  • Monitors and documents actual and potential security breaches.
  • Monitors existing security systems and technologies for possible security leaks or fraud.

** PLEASE NOTE: This position requires a CCW (Carry Concealed Weapon) certification from the State of Nevada. Failure to include your CCW credentials will result in an automatic denial of your application. **


Qualifications
  • Minimum of one (1) year experience as a security officer involving extensive public contact.
  • High school diploma or GED.  
  • Knowledge of Life Safety TJC CMS and OSHA regulations and standards. Workplace violence training within 6 months of employment.
  • Completion of NIMS compliant ICS 100HCb 200b & 700a courses or state equivalent. CPR BLS & HA Certification within 90 days of employment.
  • International Association of Healthcare Security Services (IAHSS) Basic course within 90 days of employment and IAHSS Advanced course within six months of employment.  
  • Essential Cognitive Functions - Ability to comprehend and follow instructions; maintain attention and concentration for necessary periods; synthesize coordinate and analyste data perform simple and repetitive tasks; maintain a work pace approrporate to given workload; perform complex and varied tasks; relate to other people beyond giving and receiving instructions; get along with co-worers and peers; understand the meaning of words and how to use them appropriately and effectively; understand and remember detailed instructions; make independent deicsions or exercise judgment based on appropriate information; accept and carry out responsibility for direction control and planning.  
  • Poses a valid State Drivers License or have the ability to obtain prior to hire date. = DRV LIC;
  • CT CCW = Certified to Carry Concealed Weapon.
  • Must have a current CCW or able to produce the receipt submitted to LVMPD; awaiting their approved CCW hard card.
