The posted compensation range of $24.77 - $35.69 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. CommonSpirit may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

This job is responsible for assisting in the delivery of patient care and performance of established tasks and procedures under the supervision of a physically-present and immediately-available Registered Nurse/Provider. An incumbent performs clinical procedures and tasks within scope of practice.

Essential Functions
Assists in implementing plan of care by performing common clinical procedures and tasks within scope of practice.

 • Demonstrates competency in the delivery of care and clinical techniques, including (but not limited to):

    ◦ Basic Airway Management

    ◦ CPR

    ◦ Vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, oral and rectal temperature, Respirations, and pulse oximetry

    ◦ Electrocardiogram

    ◦ Point of care testing

    ◦ Wound care including suture set-up

    ◦ Assisting with eye and ear irrigation

    ◦ Orthopedic splinting

    ◦ Visual acuity

    ◦ Suture/staple removal

    ◦ Assisting with gastric lavage

    ◦ Assisting with activities of daily living

    ◦ Peak flow

    ◦ Breath alcohol

    ◦ Assists with removal of peripheral IV and urinary catheters

    ◦ Conducts clinical activities requiring a Medical Assistant-Phlebotomy certification, such as blood glucose checks and phlebotomy.

    ◦ Decontamination/Washdown with Level C Bio-Haz Suit and powered respirator


Job Requirements

Education and Experience:

High School Graduate or High School GED and completion of one of the following that demonstrates attainment of the requisite job knowledge skills/abilities: Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) program OR Medical Assistant program OR  Certified Nursing Assistant Program, OR Licensed Practical Nurse program OR completion of one year of nursing school.

Licensure and Certifications:

Certified Nursing Assistant: WA (CNA:WA) or

Licensed Practical Nurse: WA (LPN:WA) or 

Medical Assistant Certification: WA (MAC:WA) or 

Registered Nursing Assistant: WA (RNA:WA) and

Basic Life Support - CPR (BLS-CPR) through the American Heart Association and

Medical Assistant - Phlebotomist: WA (MAP:WA) within 6 months
