The posted compensation range of $18.00 - $24.60 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. Job Summary and Responsibilities

As a Certified Medical Assistant, you will be an indispensable clinical partner, elevating patient care and optimizing physician efficiency through advanced support.

Every day, you will expertly manage clinical documentation within the Electronic Medical Record (EMR), accurately perform ancillary healthcare services, and execute specific physician instructions, ensuring precise and efficient patient visits.

To be successful in this role, you will combine advanced clinical proficiency with exceptional attention to detail, a strong aptitude for electronic health records, and a proactive approach to supporting high-quality patient care.

Collect appropriate data and perform testing to prepare patient for provider visit.
Maintain patient flow through the clinic.
Pull patient voicemails and process messages to the nurses as appropriate.
Complete patient refills as requested by both patient and pharmacy, ensuring appropriate labs are ordered as needed and protocol is followed.
Assist nurses with patient messages as necessary.
Assist nurses with reviewing physician blue book as necessary.

High School Graduate or
High School GED and
Completion of a Certified Medical Assistant course and
Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire and
Certified Clinical Medical Assistant, upon hire or
Certified Medical Assistant AAMA, upon hire or
Certified Medical Assistant NHA, upon hire or
National Certified Medical Assistant NCCT, upon hire or
National Registered/Certified Medical Assistant NAHP, upon hire or
Registered Medical Assistant AMT, upon hire or
Registered Medical Assistant, upon hire or
Cert Med Asst - MMCI, upon hire or

The Chattanooga Heart Institute offers the most comprehensive cardiac care available in this region. Founded in 1976, we now have six offices in Tennessee and one in Georgia. Our practice is made up of 29 board-certified cardiologists and three cardiothoracic surgeons. We merged with CHI Memorial Health Care System in 2011 which is part of CommonSpirit Health.
