The posted compensation range of $36.00 - $52.20 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. Job Summary and Responsibilities

JOB SUMMARY / PURPOSE

As our Registered Nurse you will be a vital part of our Saint Mary's Community Hospital team, delivering exceptional direct patient care within your scope of practice. This includes assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care for a designated group of healthcare consumers, encompassing their spiritual, physiological, social, and psychological well-being. Join us in providing comprehensive care, disease prevention, and health conservation, contributing directly to the mission and core values of CommonSpirit Health.

Every day you will leverage your expert nursing skills, applying the full nursing process from assessment to evaluation. You'll systematically collect and analyze diverse healthcare consumer data, setting measurable, achievable goals collaboratively with patients and multidisciplinary teams. You'll implement and adapt care plans using assessment data and evidence-based practice, ensuring care coordination, patient education, and seamless discharge planning. Documenting every phase of the nursing process is key, as is actively participating in ongoing professional development and fostering a collaborative, safe work environment. This role involves direct patient interaction and may require operating essential medical equipment.

To be successful in this role, you will need to be a Registered Nurse (RN) licensed in NE, holding current BLS-CPR and ACLS certifications upon hire. Additionally, you will be required to obtain PALS within 5 months and NRP within 6 months of onboarding. A graduate of an RN nursing program, you'll possess strong critical thinking, excellent communication (both verbal and written), and essential technical skills. Your success hinges on meticulous attention to detail, strong customer service, adaptability, and the ability to maintain strict confidentiality while managing a medium physical workload that involves frequent standing, walking, and occasional lifting of 20-50 pounds.

ESSENTIAL KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES 

You will primarily be responsible for:

  • Delivering comprehensive, direct patient care: Precisely assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for perinatal patients.
  • Applying the full nursing process: Systematically gather patient data, set goals, execute care plans, and continuously evaluate outcomes.
  • Collaborating effectively: Work in partnership with patients and multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal care coordination and discharge planning.
  • Maintaining professional standards: Document all care phases meticulously, engage in continuous professional development, and adhere to all safety and ethical guidelines.

We are offering up to $10,000 as a Sign-on Bonus as well as up to $10,000 in Educational Assistance to new hires who meet the eligibility requirements.

Job Requirements

Required Education for Staff Job Levels

  • Graduate of an RN nursing program

Required Licensure and Certifications

  • Active RN licensure in the state of Nebraska, Iowa, or nurse licensure compact. Basic life support is required upon hire. Acceptable credentialing bodies and certifications include the following:
    •  American Heart Association: Basic Life Support. 
    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification required within 6 months of hire. 
    • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification required within 6 months of hire. 
    • CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervent certification required within 6 months of hire. 
    • NRP required within 6 months of hire.

CHI Health St. Mary’s has served Nebraska City and the surrounding areas since 1927. In the fall of 2014, St. Mary’s opened the doors of a brand-new, fully modernized facility. The new 110,000-square-foot campus is better equipped to meet the changing needs of our community with, among other benefits, an increased capacity for specialty clinics and an integrated primary care clinic. St. Mary’s encourages collaboration and care coordination among primary care physicians and medical specialists. This contributes to the high quality of care our patients have come to expect.
