The posted compensation range of $34.00 - $50.58 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. Beyond General Surgery: A Focus on Specialized Care

While you'll be a vital part of our general operating room, you'll also have the unique opportunity to contribute to our specialized Pain Management Clinic. Our Pain Management Clinic is dedicated to providing comprehensive and individualized care to patients suffering from chronic pain. As an OR RN, your expertise will be crucial in supporting a variety of interventional pain procedures performed within the OR setting. This includes assisting with procedures such as:

  • Epidural Steroid Injections: Providing relief for spinal pain.
  • Nerve Blocks: Targeting specific nerves to alleviate localized pain.
  • Radiofrequency Ablation: Minimally invasive procedure to disrupt pain signals.
  • Joint Injections: Addressing pain in various joints.

This specialized focus offers an exciting opportunity to expand your skill set, learn new procedures, and directly contribute to improving our patients' quality of life by helping them manage their pain effectively.

As an OR RN, you will:

  • Provide expert, patient-centered nursing care throughout the perioperative experience, including pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative phases.
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the nursing care of surgical patients of all ages, ensuring adherence to established policies, procedures, and standards of care.
  • Act as a patient advocate, communicating effectively with patients, families, and the multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal outcomes.
  • Prepare the operating room for surgical procedures, ensuring all necessary equipment, instruments, and supplies are readily available and sterile.
  • Assist the surgical team during procedures, including scrubbing, circulating, and monitoring the patient's physiological responses.
  • Document all aspects of patient care accurately and thoroughly in the electronic health record.
  • Educate patients and families about surgical procedures, recovery, and post-operative care instructions.
  • Maintain a sterile environment and adhere to all infection control protocols.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to a culture of continuous learning.
  • Collaborate effectively with surgeons, anesthesiologists, surgical technologists, and other healthcare professionals.

Job Requirements

What We're Looking For:

  • Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN)
  • Licensure: Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of North Dakota, or ability to obtain prior to start date.
  • Certifications: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) required. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifcation required. 


Preferred:

  • Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
  • Experience: Minimum of one (1) year of experience as a Registered Nurse in an Operating Room setting.
