Responsibilities

In keeping with the Marian Regional Medical Center health care philosophy the Security Officer performs a variety of duties relating to the security of the Medical Center buildings and grounds to prevent fire theft vandalism illegal entry and to assure the personal safety of employees patients and visitors.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must possess a valid California Driver License (CA DL)
  • Must possess a valid California Security Guard Card Permit (SEC GUARD)
  • Must successfully complete the Hospital Security Officer Training Program within a 90-day period of time

Preferred Requirements:

  • At least six (6) months experience in security or law enforcement

Special Skills:

  • To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each key activity satisfactorily.
  • The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge skill and/or ability required.
  • Ability to read analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals and legal documents.
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from patients employees regulatory agencies or members of the business community.
  • Ability to effectively present information to top management public groups and/or hospital committees.
  • Ability to define problems collect data establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
  • Knowledge of security policies and procedures and how Security interfaces with other departments.
  • Must have computer knowledge and proficient in the use of MS Word Excel and Access.
