Responsibilities
Position Summary:
This is an exciting, cornerstone and highly visible position for Marian Regional! We are looking for an energetic and experienced Director of Lab with acute-care Hospital and Outreach experience to join our team.
As our Director of Clinical Laboratory Services you will lead the day-to-day operations of Lab services for Marian Regional Medical Center and Arroyo Grande Community Hospital, as well as the largest Lab Outreach program in CommonSpirit Health. Marian's Lab Outreach program consists of 15 draw centers, a large courier service, and handles 300,000 visits per year. Our Outreach program continues to grow at a rapid pace, and you'll need to effectively partner with key stakeholders to maintain quality standards and customer service practices.
You will stive to lead and inspire staff, including front line managers, working in a fast paced environment, and seek to promote and ensure quality practices in compliance with all Local, State, and Federal agencies' rules and regulations. You will be a visible leader, available for your team and able to effectively monitor staff performance and practices, allowing you to successfully participate in the development of competencies, performance standards and Lab protocols for the Hospitals and draw centers. You will advise other department heads and administrators in matters related to Lab services and strategies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree from an accredited college or university.
- Minimum of five (5) years of progressive Laboratory Services experience in Medical Technology/Clinical Laboratory Science, of which three (3) of those years with an emphasis on management of a Medical Laboratory.
- American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP), or National Credentialing Agency for Laboratory Personnel (NCA) or Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS), or equivalent required. Additional state licensure as needed is required.
Special Skills:
- Business case development including financial analysis.
