Responsibilities
St. Bernardine Medical Center is a designated Primary Stroke Center certified by the American Heart Association and the American Stroke Association.
We are also working towards designation as a Thrombectomy Capable Stroke Center, underscoring the Hospital’s commitment to providing advanced and comprehensive stroke care to our community.
As our Nurse Manager Stroke Program you will coordinate patient care ranging from stroke prevention and acute stroke treatment to rehabilitation services, working elbow to elbow with a top-rated team of neurologists, neurosurgeons, vascular surgeons, nurse practitioners, and specialists.
This is a cornerstone and highly visible position, and you will be on the forefront of stroke care, being involved with the community to provide education and support, and helping to empower our staff to make a lasting and meaningful impact on the lives of those we serve. To thrive in this role you will need to leverage your expertise in stroke care, to guide, teach, and effectively respond in a fast paced environment where seconds count, and will need to have a mindset for continuous education and improvement, never settling for just 'up to par.'
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or equivalent education and experience required.
- Minimum of three (3) years of nursing experience and one (1) year of leadership experience required.
- Registered Nursing License (RN) in CA required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
