Overview

Patients Medical Center (PMC) provides inpatient and outpatient medical and surgical services to residents of Pasadena, Deer Park, La Porte, Baytown, and Clear Lake. The facility includes 53 medical/surgical beds, eight ICU beds and three endoscopy rooms, and offers a range of primary and specialized services—wound care, general surgery, gastroenterology, occupational health, heart and vascular, women’s services, diagnostic imaging, outpatient rehab services, and sleep disorders.


Responsibilities

Educates and trains patient escort staff to ensure competency and/or dispatching for the department; must ensure that
equipment is operational, safe and functioning according to hospital standards; will maintain quality assurance monitors
to evaluate the quality of service provided to patients, communicate effectively with management and take on a
leadership role.

1. Become familiar and utilize the Bed Central system and back‐up process for coordinating patient transports and
discharges.


2. Must be able to assist and transport patients during staff shortages.


3. Assign trips to patient escort pagers through Bed Central.


4. Answer a busy phone while maintaining an error tracking log.


5. Maintain a steady flow of communication between the Transportation staff, Supervisors, Unit Secretaries and Nurse
Managers.


6. Report any conflicts immediately to the supervisor/manager.


7. Performs other duties when requested.


Qualifications

Education:

High school diploma/GED

CPR Certified *Must obtain within 1 week of hire 

Minimum Experience:

One (1) year of experience
